St. Louise School Weekly Bulletin

School News for Jan 11-16, 2024

A Note from Mr. Fuerte

Dear Families,

Monday, January 15th, there will be no school or Kids’ Club as we honor Martin Luther King Jr. He was one of the most important African American leaders in U.S. History and one of the most iconic figures of the civil rights movement in the United States during the 1950’s and 1960’s. During a speech to Congress on September 24th, 2015 Pope Francis paid tribute to the contributions of great Americans including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. You can read his address to Congress in which Pope Francis recognizes four great Americans, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. During the next few days, your child will be learning about Martin Luther King Jr. in their classrooms.

Reminder of January 22nd Winter Conferences

There will be no school or Kids’ Club on Monday, January 22 for Winter Conferences. It is halfway through the 2nd trimester and teachers or parents may request to have conferences on this day with their homeroom or specialist teachers. Teachers will inform parents by tomorrow if they would like to request a conference. Conferences will be held between 8:30am-4:00pm with no conferences between 1:00pm-2:00pm. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

Awesome Job St. Louise Reading Superheroes!

Way to go 8th Grade!

During Social Studies class, 8A and 8B participated in a mock bill committee hearing. The students showcased exceptional eloquence and thorough preparation on the topic at hand. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Walker for orchestrating such a valuable and engaging experience for our students. Witnessing their poise and proficiency during this activity brought immense joy, and I am thrilled they had the opportunity to shine in this unique learning environment. I applaud the 8th graders for their commendable performance. -Mrs. Jaster

A Note from Fr. Gary & Parish Happenings

Dear Friends at St. Louise,

Each year on the third Monday of January, our country remembers the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It can be tempting, as with any federal holiday, to let the day come and go without doing anything more than using the day to rest, recreate or to catch up on our “to do” list. I hope that this column will be a way for us to take at least a few moments to reflect on this important day.
