A Note from Mr. Fuerte

Dear Families,

Auction Update!

What an amazing evening celebrating 62 years of St. Louise at the “Grand Affair” AUCTION! Huge thanks go out to Laura Bonner and Amy Colby and the many volunteers that helped make the evening such a success. The numbers are still coming in, so stay tuned for our final total. The highlight of the evening was the frenzied bidding for the “S.T.E.P. up for St. Louise Fund A Need” which raised over $174,000! Thank you to the Parents’ Club and many families that donated to the special Fund A Need. Thank you to all the amazing supporters, whose attendance and generosity are a testament to their commitment to, and appreciation, of Catholic Education. Be sure to check out some of the fun pictures in the gallery below!

Giving Season is Upon Us

The coming holiday season is a perfect time to reflect on, and be thankful for, all the gifts which God has blessed us. Sharing our gifts with those who may be in need during this time is just as important. St. Louise students and families can help those in need in two ways this Thanksgiving and Advent. First, by donating food items to the Thanksgiving Basket Collection in their classrooms and second, by donating to our Annual Advent Collection Drive for New Bethlehem programs. You can read more about the Thanksgiving Basket Collection below, with more details coming soon for our Advent Collection Drive.

November Conferences

You should have received an email last week about signing up for your preferred date and time for Parent-Student-teacher Conferences. The conference dates are Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st. We require every family to conference with the teacher each November. If you are out of town during our Thanksgiving-Week conference days, we have one optional day for conferences - Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, after our noon dismissal. You will need to coordinate your conference with your child’s homeroom teacher. Thank you for partnering with your child's teacher!

Have a wonderful Veterans’ Day Weekend!

During the month of November, St. Louise Parish and School are joining efforts to create Thanksgiving Baskets for those in need within our own community.

Each class will be in charge of decorating one basket and providing a nonperishable food item for the baskets that will complete the meal. Your student’s teacher will let you know what to bring in the coming days.

Please send your assigned item to school by Monday, November 13th so we can assemble the baskets.

Parish Happenings

A Message from Fr. Gary

Dear Friends at St. Louise,

As you know, the word Eucharist means thanksgiving. Have you thought that the words Eucharist and Thanksgiving can inform how we think about our moral life?

Moral theologian (and former rector of my alma mater, St. Meinrad Seminary) Fr. Mark O’Keefe, OSB, certainly thinks so! He writes: “As a Catholic moral theologian, I believe that the daily living of the Christian moral life is empowered by gratitude. At the very least, we can say that fostering a spirit of gratitude is a powerful tool for enhancing our ability, one day after another, to live the sometimes‑difficult demands of Christian Discipleship. . . . ”
