VISION 2024 UPDATE

We’re on track to move into Phase 2 of our Vision 2024 plan early next year.

Phase 1 accomplishments to date:

  • our administrative offices have been moved to 8035 East R.L. Thornton Freeway, just down the street from our main campus
  • all furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies have been packed and moved out of our Fellowship Hall and Education building
  • asbestos abatement in the Education building is underway

Remaining Phase 1 tasks:

  • complete the asbestos abatement process
  • retain a demolition contractor and take down the Education building
  • install temporary buildings on our main campus to support on-site ministry needs—including classrooms and dedicated children’s worship and Bible study spaces—and provide easily-accessible storage

When Phase 1 is completed, we’ll launch Phase 2, which includes

  • Empowerment Center master planning and design
  • Launching our capital campaign

We’re focused on moving Vision 2024 forward! To stay up to date on our progress, please watch for periodic updates from Pastor Butler during our worship experience, and continue to read your bi-monthly newsletter.

SUNDAY WORSHIP PREP

With the midterm elections almost decided, where do we go from here? We'll find out in Pastor Butler’s new two-part sermon series. Part 1, "Keep Me Near the Cross," is based on Matthew 27:32-44.

See you at 10:00 a.m. in our sanctuary and on our YouTube channel.

SOUL AMBASSADORS COMMISSIONING SERVICE

You’re invited to join us in the sanctuary for a special ceremony at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13. We’re commissioning our first cohort of Soul Ambassadors who completed the training with our Mental Health Ministry.

In addition to celebrating members of St. Luke Nation on this achievement, you’ll learn more about this practical yet transformational approach to mental health advocacy for others as well as yourself.

Rev. Jermine Alberty, executive director of Pathways to Promise, will share a message that we promise will inspire you!

NextGen parents and guardians meet in the Youth Center every second Sunday after worship.

NEW ACTIVITIES

CLOTHNG AND TOILETRIES DRIVE

Cooler weather is headed our way, which means we’re collecting warm clothing, blankets, and full-sized toiletries for families in need.

Please package your new or clean, gently-used clothing in clear plastic bags, labeled with size and gender—male, female, or unisex.

And please package the toiletries in a separate bag—remember, no glass containers. Collection boxes will be set up at St. Luke every Sunday in November, and at Warren UMC on November 26 during the first hour of our Loaves & Fishes service time.

ANGEL TREE

It’s Angel Tree time! Stop by the church to adopt your angel and drop off your gifts on Saturdays and Sundays from November 20 through December 11.

To make adopting an angel even more convenient, just email our Angel Tree Ministry at [email protected] to select yours.

Our annual Angel Tree Party in the Parking Lot is Sunday, December 18.

Now 93 years young, he's the first to arrive in our sanctuary for worship every Sunday.
