Dear St. Luke School Community,
I hope you and your families are doing well and enjoying the last few days of summer. Over the next two weeks, we will be sending a number of communications out regarding the upcoming school year, so please continue to monitor your email.
Please be sure to read this entire email as it contains a lot of very important information about the upcoming school year.
Mandatory Summer Forms
All completed paper forms are required to be submitted before the first day of school, Wednesday, August 17th. Students will not be allowed to attend school until all forms have been completed and submitted to Mrs. Gattone in the main office. Please note that all completed forms must be submitted together:
-
All families must complete these forms.
-
Families of students in Grades 4-8 must also complete this form.
-
All volunteers (including Coaches) must complete a CANTS form and a Standards of Behavior form.
You can either drop off the forms in person during office hours or mail them to the school office. The school office is open Monday, August 8th to Tuesday, August 16th from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. Regular office hours begin on Wednesday, August 17th.
Hot Lunch Program Changes
Hot lunch will now be offered for purchase every Friday. We will continue to partner with Marla's Lunch for our hot lunch program. Details on how to order and ordering deadlines will be sent next week.
Please note that all hot lunch dates will no longer be spirit wear days, but there still will be many opportunities for students to wear spirit wear throughout the school year. Spirit wear dates will be shared with families soon.
Milk Ordering
Families have the option to order daily milk (chocolate or skim) for their student(s). The link to order and pay for milk is at the bottom of this email. The deadline for milk orders is Friday, August 19th.
Extended Day Service (EDS)
EDS is available for all full day students in grades preschool through 8th. The hours for EDS are 7:00 - 8:00 am and after school until 6:00 pm. The link to pay the EDS registration fee of $50 is at the bottom of this email.

Preschool and Kindergarten families will also receive the link to the Sign Up Genius for Drop In Day which will be Wednesday, August 17th.
Used Uniforms Still Needed
We have many new families joining our community this year and many are hoping to find some gently used regular uniform items. If you have any uniforms items that are gently used and without stains or tears, please drop them off in the school office. Please no gym uniforms or spirit wear at this time.
VIRTUS Training Classes for Volunteers
St. Luke will be hosting several VIRTUS training sessions this fall: August 31st, September 24th, and October 11th. You can register for any of these sessions here. This training course only needs to be taken once so if you are coming from another Catholic school and have already taken the class you do not need to take it again. As a reminder, all adults who wish to volunteer must complete all of the requirements outlined by the Archdiocese of Chicago.
As always. please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to welcoming our Bearcats back to school in just two short weeks!
Sincerely,
Mr. Andrew DiMarco
Principal
