Missions Newsletter - November 2026

Happy November, St. Luke’s Family!

We kicked off the month with a Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Build where over 300 volunteers came together to build 98 beds! We shared meals with Circles, Coalition for the Homeless, Matthew’s Hope, Jobs Partnership, and, beginning in October, the Christian Service Center. We also celebrated our school partnerships with Trunk or Treats at Maxey and Mollie Ray Elementary Schools and with our Love in Action night, where our youngest St. Lukers created 93 teacher appreciation gift bags! We continued strengthening connections throughout our community through the Go Full STEAM and Shepherd's Hope fundraisers, OCPS Faith-Based Partnership Mixer, and the Orlando Pride Parade. Our commitment to justice and civic engagement continued through the Micah Movement Press Conference, FLUMC Pre-Election Webinar, and our What's on Your Ballot? lunch and learn, equipping our community with trusted resources to become informed and engaged citizens.

Whether building beds, supporting our schools, sharing meals, or raising our voices for justice, every effort is another way we live out our calling to love boldly. Thank you for continuing to lend your hands, join hearts, and amplify voices.

Below are some things to look forward to in November and the months to come!

November Ministry Highlight

Many Stories, One Community

Join us Nov. 7 for an evening of storytelling and conversation to build relationships across cultures. Enjoy delicious food from local businesses, thought-provoking artwork, and learn about community organizations working to support and amplify the voices of marginalized communities.

Give Thanks. Give Food. Give Someone a PIE IN THE FACE

It's a Thanksgiving Food Drive SHOWDOWN at St. Luke's!

Our Preschool, Elementary, and Youth Ministries are going head-to-head.. to head in a friendly competition to help fill Thanksgiving baskets for One Heart for Women and Children!

Preschool is collecting mashed potatoes, Elementary is collecting canned green beans, and Youth is collecting canned corn. The ministry that brings in the MOST wins the ultimate prize…A PIE IN THE FACE!

Families are welcome to bring in items for other ministries. Our goal is to collect 100 of each food item by November 17. Let's fill our shelves so we can fill those baskets!

Through our St. Luke’s family of donors and volunteers, our monthly dinner at Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida provides nourishment for the body and soul of others in our community.

This St. Luke’s team truly embodies the spirit of Jesus in how we serve the people in our community.
