"Meeting With God" Healing Services

Friday, December 6th, at 7:00 PM St. Luke’s invites everyone to our second ‘Meeting with God’ healing service.

This will be a time of worship, moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, testimonies, sharing Christ's love and power to heal, and then ministry to those seeking God's healing touch.

Advent Times of Prayer

Each Wednesday during Advent, we are opening our doors so people can come and have a quiet place to pray… light a candle to lift up prayers for others... or get prayer from the clergy that are present.

The Sanctuary will be open from 12:00-2:00 PM and from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Come join us in Advent as we wait, watch, and pray.

Angel Tree Christmas Outreach

Angel Tree, part of Prison Fellowship Ministries, is a ministry that provides Christmas gifts to children of incarcerated parents. This year St Luke's is joining with Truly Reaching You Inc. to bless over 250 children in the greater Akron area.

St. Luke’s is one of several churches in the area working with TRY, gifts which have been purchased will be given to the children at the Angel Tree party at TRY's warehouse on Saturday, Dec. 14th.

If you have taken an Angel Tree gift tag, please remember we recommend purchasing a gift of ‘want’ and a gift of ‘need’ for each child. You can expect to spend between $60 to $70 on gifts for each child, so feel free to ‘go in’ with friends, family,

your Life Group, or ministry group.

Gifts should be returned to St. Luke’s by Sunday, Dec. 8th.

Anyone interested in serving at the Angel Tree Party on Saturday, December 14th, contact Jim Fulton as soon as possible for details.

St. Luke’s is hosting a special worship arts retreat next month on January 10th and 11th.

Songwriters, visuals artists, poets, and creative artists of all disciplines are invited to encounter God’s as we create, collaborate, encourage, and build community with other artists.

For more information, see Laura Ghrist or the flyer on the Welcome Board.

The next Men's Breakfast will be on Saturday, December 21st.

All men are invited for a time of fellowship, good food, and a challenging and encouraging message from Kenny Lambert from "Just A Dad From Akron." It’s an opportunity to support one another as we walk together in Christ.

Breakfast begins in the Harbor at 8:30 AM.

The beginning of the new year brings with it the time to prayerfully consider who the Lord would want to serve as a member of the St. Luke's Vestry.

Vestry Nomination forms are available for any member-in-good-standing on the Welcome Board by the front entrance.

As you pray and the Lord gives you names of those who have demonstrated the characteristics of leadership, please ask those people if they would be willing to serve.

The current members of our vestry and those leaving the vestry are listed on the nomination forms.

Please submit your nominations by January 12, 2025. Completed forms can be placed in the offering basket or brought to the church office.

We are in need of small groups, Life Groups, friends, and individuals willing to sign up to provide and serve lunch in our Café Sundays after the service.

Please sign up on the clipboard found in the Café.

The next Copley MomCo (formerly MOPS) meetings at St. Luke's will be on Wednesday, December 18th, and Wednesday, January 8th, from 9:30-11:30 AM.

MomCo is a non-profit organization that encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women, and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church.

There are many needs in our community and in our body.

St. Luke's is a source of help and blessing to people facing difficult situations, meeting those needs and providing comfort and prayer to those affected.

The benevolence needs for our parish and community have exceeded the amounts we spent in all of 2023.

We have blessed to be a blessing in our tithe, our time, and our talents. We will have a special offering the first week of each month. Any loose cash or change in the offering will be designated for Benevolence.

Checks with 'Benevolence' noted in the memo section will also be added to our Benevolence fund.
