A Celebration of Life for our beloved sister, Elinore A. Myers

Our sister, Elinore Meyers, will be remembered at a Celebration of Life service on TuesdayFebruary 27th, at 11:00 AM.

The service will be held at LifeSong Fellowship, 146 College St. in Wadsworth, Ohio.

Calling Hours will be held Monday, February 26th, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., in Rittman, Ohio.

Our hearts are saddened, yet we know the Lord has welcomed her with joy and gladness.

The Saturday Men’s Group and Pastor John are sponsoring the first of monthly Men’s Breakfasts for fellowship, good food, and a challenging and encouraging message for men.

We will gather in the Harbor Saturday, February 24, at 8:30 AM with Father Dan as our first speaker and chef.

Every man is invited. We also are hoping men from other churches or possibly no church at all will join us, so invite your friends and family.

Above all, we’re anticipating these monthly gatherings will increase our fellowship as brothers at St. Luke’s and encourage and support us as men together in our walk in Christ.

St. Luke's is working to form a regular group/gathering of young adults (folks just out of high school and/or in their 20s).

The particular format is to be determined, but to start, we need anyone who would like to be part of such a group to contact Andrew Unger via email or text.

The Morgans will be hosting a yet to-be-scheduled gathering to discuss the details.

Cookies and Clothing for the Peter Maurin Center

The Peter Maurin Emergency Shelter is now open to provide shelter to the homeless when the weather becomes critically cold. Peter Maurin has asked us to bless those in the shelter by providing some home-made COOKIES! So, pull out your favorite receipes and give the gift of yum.

The shelter has requested that the cookies be:

   - homemade

   - sealed in a zip-lock bag (two or three cookies per bag)

   - if possible, include a scripture or message of love and hope

Cookies can be dropped off at the church office anytime and placed in the reception area. St Luke's will deliver the cookies to the Center.

Also, Peter Maurin is asking for donations of coats, scarves, gloves, thermal underwear, boots, sweatpants, sweatshirts, and ski masks for the Peter Maurin Center (L and XL are the most requested sizes). You can bring your new or gently used clothing to the church and place them in the collection bid in the Foyer.

We will be collecting cookies and clothing throughout January and February.

Contact the church office if you have any questions.

Rev. John and Amy Wagner are hosting a Bible Study Group in their home at 6:30 PM, on Tuesday evenings.

We want to invite those who would relish studying the Bible together, especially the Old Testament with its fulfillment in the New, along with the supportive conversation and prayer we’ve come to expect in St. Luke’s Life Groups.

The Wagners are starting with a 12-week study tracing the twin themes of God’s Covenant and Kingdom, from Genesis to Revelation. It will involve some outside reading.

Please, contact Rev. John or Amy for more information.

Creative Journaling

You are invited to be a part of a Creative Journaling Group at Linda Tompkin's Glory Barn in Copley.

(Just a few miles from St. Luke's)

The group will meet the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

No previous art training or experience is necessary to be part of this group. Drawing skills are not required.

Linda has many self-helps for your use in her studio including the stencils and stamps she used in creating her own journal pages.

Linda will be sharing various techniques she has used through her years of journaling. Each evening will focus on a different technique. Combining art with the written Word is a wonderful and rewarding way of connecting to self and the Lord.

A $5 donation for supplies and materials is requested.

Let Linda Tompkin know if you are interested by emailing her at linda@tompkinstudios.com.

Or call her at 330-697-6220.
