‘Journey Into Wholeness’ Seminar

Led by Rev. Dr. Carolyn Allen and Rev. Canon Ron Allen

February 2-4, 2024

Have you asked these questions…

"Why do I keep saying and doing things I don't want to?"

Do you ever hear yourself saying these words and feel defeated?

Do you ever feel stuck or unable to live the new life that God has planned for you?

If so then join us for a ‘Journey into Wholeness’ weekend and learn how ungodly habits and patterns of thinking and behaving can be transformed into wholeness.

During the weekend we will learn and experience:

    - Hearing God's Voice

    - Being set free from generational patterns

    - Release from curses and vows

    - Freedom from demonic interference

" Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.", Romans 12:2

As we learn about and experience new life in Christ, we will begin to learn the ways Christ calls us to be His instruments of healing for others.

Cookies and Clothing for the Peter Maurin Center

The Peter Maurin Emergency Shelter is now open to provide shelter to the homeless when the weather becomes critically cold. Peter Maurin has asked us to bless those in the shelter by providing some home-made COOKIES! So, pull out your favorite receipes and give the gift of yum.

The shelter has requested that the cookies be:

   - homemade

   - sealed in a zip-lock bag (two or three cookies per bag)

   - if possible, include a scripture or message of love and hope

Cookies can be dropped off at the church office anytime and placed in the reception area. St Luke's will deliver the cookies to the Center.

Also, Peter Maurin is asking for donations of coats, scarves, gloves, thermal underwear, boots, sweatpants, sweatshirts, and ski masks for the Peter Maurin Center (L and XL are the most requested sizes). You can bring your new or gently used clothing to the church and place them in the collection bid in the Foyer.

We will be collecting cookies and clothing throughout January and February.

Contact the church office if you have any questions.

APS Baby-Bottle Fundraiser

Save your spare change for Akron Pregnancy Services.

When you fill a bottle with currency, checks, or coins, you are providing pregnancy, parenting and life-skill counseling, maternity and baby supplies and other life affirming services to women and men in crisis. More importantly they are introduced to Jesus Christ and the hope that can be found in Him.

Pick up a baby bottle in the Foyer.

Return completed bottles to the cafe by February 18th.

Tuesday Bible Study

Rev. John and Amy Wagner will be hosting a home group Tuesday evenings, meeting at 6:30 PM, beginning February 6th.

Some of you are in groups or otherwise very committed in your days or evenings already, but we particularly want to invite those who would relish studying the Bible together, especially the Old Testament with its fulfillment in the New, along with the supportive conversation and prayer we’ve come to expect in St. Luke’s Life Groups.

They are planning to start with a 12-week study tracing the twin themes of God’s Covenant and Kingdom, from Genesis to Revelation. It will involve some outside reading.

Please, let Rev. John or Amy know of your interest ASAP for ordering of a resource book and planning of refreshments.

Creative Journaling

You are invited to be a part of a Creative Journaling Group at Linda Tompkin's Glory Barn in Copley.

(Just a few miles from St. Luke's)

The group will meet the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

No previous art training or experience is necessary to be part of this group. Drawing skills are not required.

Linda has many self-helps for your use in her studio including the stencils and stamps she used in creating her own journal pages.

Linda will be sharing various techniques she has used through her years of journaling. Each evening will focus on a different technique. Combining art with the written Word is a wonderful and rewarding way of connecting to self and the Lord.
