GreifShare: Surviving the Holidays Event

This Sunday, November 19, at 12:30 PM

Facing the Holiday season while grieving can sometimes feel like taking one step forward and two steps back. But like a trusted guide, a 2-hour Surviving the Holidays event will prepare you to navigate the season’s changes.

The event begins with a 35-minute video that will help you feel understood and encouraged, with stories of people who have found healing after loss and practical tips from experts.

After the video, you will be given a safe, nonjudgmental space to share your experiences and feelings with the group - or simply listen. There’s no pressure to talk if you don’t want to!

You will be given a Holiday Survival Guide full of tips on how to navigate the season, including coping with painful emotions, handling social events and traditions, and more.

More than just practical tips, "GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays" is a community of people who know what it’s like to walk through the holidays in grief. You will find connection and comfort in knowing you’re not alone this season.

Thank you to all of those who have taken an Angel Tree gift tag. St. Luke’s is going to be able to bless over 40 children whose parents are currently incarcerated this Christmas by purchasing gifts through Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree Outreach program.

The Angle Tree Party will be Saturday, December 9th.

Gifts should be returned to the church by Sunday, November 26th.

Gifts can be placed in the church office or under the Angel Tree in the foyer.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus.

 Pray for the Middle East

Pray for The Reischman Family - Serving Jesus in the heart of Islam.

The Reischman Family is serving in the Middle East. They lead 7 secret congregations in a nation of nearly 40 million people. In the heart of Islam Fr. Chuck is the only full-time Anglican priest - leading 7 Anglican Parishes - 6 in English, and 1 in Arabic. Gina leads the women and guides the ministry for children. She and Anna (now at University) have led many led children to Christ! Matthew has been active among Arab youth.

Pray for:

  • Peace in the region - especially in Israel
  • This violent war to end quickly and not spread to other Arab or Persian nations.
  • Pray for peace.
  • Pray for refugee families and children. Chuck and Gina feed and distribute medicine as they are able to provide.
  • Pray for the Christian congregations from 30 nationalities that the "Expat Community" will be the light of Christ among those torn by war and anxiety.
  • Pray that Chuck and Gina
  • That this war will awaken hearts to the need of a Savior - our Lord Jesus! Pray many will turn from fear to faith.
  • Pray for Fr. Chuck and Gina for their upcoming sabbatical rest - coming soon.
  • Pray for the end of explosions, rockets, and death - and for new life in the power of the Holy Spirit to invade these lands.
  • Pray for more missionaries to come work alongside families serving the Lord in the Middle East.
