A word of Thanks from our Rector!
As I reflect on 5 years of leading St. Luke's and the Journey the Lord has brought me on, I am ever aware of my gratitude for the honor and blessing of serving this Church family. As we approach Thanksgiving, I am reminded of a quote I once heard by J.I. Packer.
“We need to discover all over again that worship is natural to the Christian, as it was to the godly Israelites who wrote the psalms, and that the habit of celebrating the greatness and graciousness of God yields an endless flow of thankfulness, joy, and zeal.” – J.I. Packer
As Kristin and I celebrate this Thanksgiving with our kids, we would encourage you all to “ponder anew what the almighty” has done. Looking back, we have much to celebrate of His greatness and graciousness to us. May our tables and our hearts be full of thankfulness, joy, and zeal. And as it says in Psalm 5:12, “May the favor of the Lord God be upon you, and may His goodness surround you like a shield.”
