Lenten Teaching Series

This Sunday, March 26th, will be the last of session of our Lent teaching series with Andrew and Joy Unger.

Once the service ends, we will take a break for lunch in the Café, and then around 12:30 you can join us in the Sanctuary.

Sunday’s talk will focus on Holy Week and the shift from repentance into joy.  If you missed the previous sessions, they are available on our website or on the “St Luke’s Church Akron” podcast.

St. Luke’s will be providing Easter Food Baskets to those in our congregation and community who are in need this Easter season.

We are looking for volunteers to shop, pack, or distribute the baskets next Saturday, April 1st, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Contact Paula Prentice if you are able to help.

Also, if you would like to give a monetary donation to supply the baskets, write “Easter Baskets” in your checks memo or select the “Easter Food Baskets” fund from our website.

We will be decorating the altar this week (and next) in preparation for the celebrations of Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Easter.

If you can volunteer after the service this Sunday to bring up the decorations from the lower level, it would be a great help to those who will decorate this week. Thank you!

Thank you!

The Baby Bottle Fund Raiser this year was a great success.

St. Luke's raised over $1100 to support the ministry of Akron Pregnancy Services!

Creative Journaling

Come join our Creative Journaling Group at Linda Tompkin's Glory Barn. (just 3 miles from St. Luke's).

The group meets the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

No previous art training or experience is necessary to be part of this group. Drawing skills are not required.

Linda has many self-helps for your use in her studio including the stencils and stamps she used in creating her own journal pages.

Linda will be sharing various techniques she has used through her years of journaling. Each evening will focus on a different technique. Combining art with the written Word is a wonderful and rewarding way of connecting to self and the Lord.

Let Linda Tompkin know if you are interested by emailing her at [email protected].

Or call her at 330-697-6220.

The Glory Barn is located at 4780 Medina Rd. in Copley.
