In-gathering Weekend Almost Here!
We are invited to bring back our pledge cards on Saturday October 31st and November 1st. They will be presented and blessed during the offertory, as a token of our generous answer to a generous God from whom all blessings flow.
Please take the time to think about the many ways you have been blessed in your lives; take the time to think how you have experienced God's blessings and God's grace through St Luke's ministries, and then fill out and bring back your pledge card, "not out of duty, but out of deep gratitude for God's generosity."
I wish you and I could experience what the author of this week's Stewardship reflection experienced when she encountered a handicapped beggar on a street of Philadelphia. I wish you and I, like our author, may be able to say: "Giving of my life and resources has become pure joy."
As I have said several times, no gift is too large to God, and no gift is too small to God... What a marvelous testimony it would be if everybody were able to be a pledger, not out of duty, but out of gratitude!
Yours sincerely,
Pierre-Henry+

Special Musical Note for this Sunday
This Sunday, October 25, at the 10 a.m. service, we shall have a special soloist in the person of Carol Victoria Urban. Carol is the goddaughter of Carol and Carl Anderson. She has spent the last five years studying violin and voice at a conservatory in Italy. Pictures we have received of her in operatic roles indicate that she has been well received. For us she will sing the prelude and at the offertory. We're sure you won't want to miss this as part of your worship.

Faith Stories Retreat in November
Mark your calendars, and save the date! Faith Stories Retreat is coming SOON.
St Luke's will have a special guest on site to host a Faith Stories Retreat,
Saturday November 14. Tom Riley is a one-man-band (well, he does have a saxophone he integrates into the retreat); and he has led Episcopal parishes in retreats throughout the country, receiving powerful reviews. This free opportunity will be for St. Luke's parishioners, and it is also an opportunity to encourage new people to join us. The weekend's events will be held at St. Luke's and center on the Prayer of Self Dedication in our Prayer Book: "So draw our hearts to thee, so guide our minds, so fill our imagination, so control our wills, that we may be wholly thine." This free event will include fun, laughs, food, and a reflection on the great blessings that God pours out on His Church. It is a faith-centered, light-hearted, opportunity for adults and mature teenagers.
Further details forthcoming and be sure to see the related information in the Gathering Hall. In the meantime, contact
Laura Norman or
Susan Bray with questions.
