The Parish Office will be closed on Monday, January 18, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

As you'll read below, the Annual Parish Meeting is on Sunday, January 24, in the Parish Hall, following the 10 a.m. service. There will be a potluck lunch, as well. Please plan to be here!

Potluck Lunch on January 24
 
Please plan to attend the Annual Parish Meeting on Sunday, January 24, following the 10 a.m. service in the Parish Hall.  A potluck lunch will also be served. Please sign-up this weekend in the Gathering Hall for your potluck item. Please plan to attend this very important meeting in the life of the parish!
 
Looking for a few more candidates willing to serve as Lay Delegates to Diocesan Convention in October 2016:  In 2016, five voting Lay Delegates will represent St. Luke's at the Diocesan Convention, October 21-22, 2016, in Phoenix. These delegates must be elected by the parish. It is important that the church have some alternates, too. If this interests you and you are a communicant in good standing, please notify the parish office by  email  no later than Monday, January 18.

Watch for an additional email next week with information related to the Annual Meeting.
 
Adult Forum on Operation
Deep Freeze this Sunday, Jan. 17

Plan to stay for the adult forum about Operation Deep Freeze after the 10 a.m. service in the Parish Hall this Sunday, January 17. Paul Mitchell, with the Quad-City Interfaith Council, will be here to speak more about Operation Deep Freeze.

St. Luke's will be helping out with Operation Deep Freeze from January 31 - February 6 and February 28 - March 5. 

The Operation Deep Freeze Emergency Shelter will be open this winter on nights that reach 25 degrees or less when dry outside, 30 degrees or less when wet outside and/or any night when there is two or more inches of snow on the ground. 
 
3-5 people are needed to help each night the shelter is open. You may sign-up to help this weekend in the Gathering Hall. For all the details for Operation Deep Freeze, click here. Please consider helping for an evening! Thank you to those who have already signed up!
   
 
Martin Luther King Festival
happens over next few days!

You are invited to participate in the upcoming Martin Luther King Festival. The purpose of this festival:
"to embrace MLK's legacy of faithful courage and effective non-violence in order to put our efforts for peace, compassion and justice into action."

Monday, January 18, 10 a.m.: MLK Peace and Justice March and Program, March begins at Prescott College Welcome Center parking lot. Destination is Prescott United Methodist Church with program to follow.

Thank you to ALL for your continued support of the weekly food donation program which benefits the area food banks.  The food count was 208 items for the weekend of January 9-10, 2016. Amazing!!!

Boy Scouts of America -  Troop 10
 
Boy Scouts Troop 10 meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Cub Scouts Pack 10 meets on the last Friday of the month at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall.

Prescott Chorale weekly rehearsals and  concerts are held at Saint Luke's. Dennis Houser, our Choirmaster, is the Director. The next concert, "The Music of Love and the Love of Music," is February 13, at 3 PM. Visit  prescottchorale.org  for info on tickets and other details.

Show Time Community Theatre holds weekly rehearsals on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at St. Luke's beginning January 11 in preparation for their performances this May. Show Time provides opportunities for youth to take part in many different aspects of theater: acting, dancing, singing, and even working behind the "curtain."
