Operation Deep Freeze
Emergency Shelter for Winter 2016:
Neighbors Caring for Neighbors on the Coldest Nights

St. Luke's will be helping out with Operation Deep Freeze from January 31 - February 6 and February 28 - March 5.

The Operation Deep Freeze Emergency Shelter will be open this winter on nights that reach 25 degrees or less when dry outside, 30 degrees or less when wet outside and/or any night when there is two or more inches of snow on the ground. We have been asked, along with congregations in our community, to feed our homeless neighbors on the coldest nights.
3-5 people are needed to help each night the shelter is open. You may sign-up to help beginning this weekend in the Gathering Hall. For all the details for Operation Deep Freeze, click here. Please consider helping for an evening!
Don't Spend Christmas Alone Follow-up

The committee of the Don't Spend Christmas Alone Dinner thanks all the parishioners for helping make this special event such a success. It takes many helping hands before, during and after the dinner to make it run smoothly. Without your dedication, 237 meals wouldn't have been delivered to the home bound and 477 meals served to our guests dining at the church giving a grand total of 724 meals being prepared. Upon leaving, each guest received yummy homemade cookies and fudge which was donated with love and blessings from you. Thank you! It was a vision of this congregation 35 years ago to feed those alone on Christmas day; only with God's grace have we continued.
Without the strong community we have at St. Luke's, this outreach to the Quad City community could not happen and touch so many people.
Thank you for your heartfelt love, kindness and support you showed for the DSCA dinner. We wish you many Blessings, Happiness and Good Health in 2016. Let us continue to make Christ known in our life and community.

We would also like to share with the Parish the names and contributions to the DSCA dinner by the community businesses and individuals. Click here to read more about all donations received for the Don't Spend Christmas Alone Dinner.
