Following the 10 a.m. service, during coffee hour, you are warmly invited to attend his presentation, "Why Did the Early Church Grow So Fast and What Can We Learn from It." It will take place in the Parish Hall.

The loose offering for the day of the Bishop's visit will be designated for the Bishop's Discretionary Fund. it used to help clergy and their families in need. Special envelopes, for your convenience, will be available on June 10.
Blood Drive on June 13!
Give blood! Save a life! Every 2 seconds, someone needs blood. Most of us will need blood in our lifetime. Be a Hero today.

The next blood drive to take place at St. Luke's will be on June 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall!

Presiding Bishop Curry at the Royal Wedding
For his address, The Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, Presiding Bishop, had 3 audiences--an audience of 2 (Meghan and Harry), an audience of 600 (guests in the chapel), and an audience of 29 million (international TV audience). Delivered on the day before Pentecost it was certainly an example of the Holy Spirit at work in spreading God's message. The message of love is certainly a message for our times and an example that even Episcopalians are called to be evangelists.

One of the hallmarks of our parish is our welcoming spirit.  Each newcomer receives a loaf of WELCOME BREAD when they arrive at our door.  Recently we went to the freezer and the freezer was bare or depleted.  Please leave the bread in the freezer for use at the WELCOME TABLE.  Thank you.

Journey Jottings:  News from St. Luke's Deacon in Formation

Because deacons are called forth from a faith community, not self-appointed, both Father Pierre-Henry and I thought that my journey to the diaconate-not just the end point of ordination-should be shared with, and by, the congregation at large.  Thus, from time to time over the next two years, this column will keep you abreast of "where I'm at" in the process by which deacons in formation are spiritually transformed and prepared for ordained ministry.

But first, I must tell you about the two-year journey that took me from being someone who sensed a call to the diaconate to being someone who is now a deacon in formation.  It all began after I moved to Prescott in April of 2016. In long, solitary walks amidst the awesome beauty of the high desert, as well as in the silence of contemplative prayer, I began to sense that, even though I had retired four years earlier from a career that had been devoted to helping others, there might be another chapter in my book of life that God wanted to write.  That thought was amazing to me, but it persisted over time, and it eventually evolved into a question: might God be calling me to be a deacon? -Keehna Sture
