Announcement of Keehna Sture as St. Luke's Parish Nurse
Joining the distinguished line of nurses who have served in St. Luke's Parish Ministry over the years is Keehna Sture, R.N., M.S.  Keehna, a new member of our congregation, moved to Prescott from Sarasota, Florida, in April of this year.  Keehna brings to St. Luke's a wealth of experience, education, and professional health care skills, infused with compassion, sensitivity, and love, that she has willingly offered to share with us in this newest chapter of her lifelong vocation to serve others in the name of Christ.  Keehna has been a registered nurse since 1979, and, with a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Scranton, she has worked in a variety of settings, ranging from hospitals, to community mental health centers, to hospice. Her most recent work was as a grief counselor with Tidewell Hospice, in Sarasota, Florida.  We are grateful to have Keehna among us as someone to whom we can entrust the work of addressing our congregation's health needs.  Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself to her, speak with her about programs and presentations that could enhance our congregation's health, or confide in her regarding issues and questions that you are personally confronting with your own health.  Welcome, Keehna!
Nursery: the little children need you!
St. Luke's is such a great place to grow in faith and it starts in the nursery! This is not about watching them play, this is a real ministry where you get to engage with the little ones and bring them to Jesus.  It is also so important for the parents to have a safe and spiritual place for their kids to be while they are in worship. Please consider helping in the nursery. It will be rewarding and fun! See Sophie or contact her by clicking here to volunteer! Thank you!
Help Needed at Prescott Community Cupboard
More packers are needed for the Prescott Community Cupboard Food Bank. It is a wonderful chance to serve your community and let people know how great St. Luke's people are. The commitment is one afternoon (about 3 hours) every seven weeks. No one works alone... a couple can do it, or, if you are single, we will pair you with another St. Luke's member. Please consider this very important and worthwhile volunteer opportunity. Any questions or if you wish to sign up, please contact Sally Phelps  at . THANK YOU!

A Note from our Deacons
Serving at St. Luke's as Deacon is the most wonderful blessing. Now that St. Luke's is blessed to have two deacons we wanted you to be aware of several things. You will begin to notice some changes. Beginning in September, Deacon Kimball and Deacon Chris will begin sharing the services; one of us at 8 a.m. and one at 10 a.m. When we both serve, one of us will be Deacon of the Word and one, Deacon of the Table. Occasionally, one of us may take a Sunday off. When we are scheduled to preach, the Deacon preaching will also be present at the 5:30 service.
Also, Deacon Kimball is serving as the Clergy liaison to the Outreach Commission and Deacon Chris as liaison to the Pastoral Care Commission.
In Christ's love,
Deacon Kimball and Deacon Chris
