 Mardi-Gras Fun on Feb. 9!
Tuesday, February 9, was Shrove Tuesday/ Mardi-Gras, and it was a success! The dinner was delicious; thanks to the Vestry. Many people came in costume and everyone had a smile on their face! It was so fun to see the kids hit the pinatas and rush for the goodies. The atmosphere was full of joy and laughter, young folks and not-so-young all together. At the end of the evening, the children "buried" the Alleluias they
made during the event. Actually, the banners were placed into a special box that won't be open again until Easter.

Thanks f
or coming and helping make this event a great one for St. Luke's to remember.
Vestry 2016
We would like to belatedly congratulate and share the names of the new Vestry members. Three Vestry members were elected to three-year terms at the Annual Meeting on January 24, 2016. They are: Monte Anderson, Deborah Pendleton-Maurice, and Doug Ogburn.

In addition, we offer thanks to the three Vestry members who completed their terms that same day: Evelyn David, Lou Gennarelli, and Bob Norman. They worked hard; showing loving care and dedication!
VTS to Visit St. Luke's Feb. 27-28
Following our  5:30 p.m.  Eucharist  on Saturday  evening,  February 27 , Linda Dienno from Virginia Theological Seminary will host a light Lenten meal of simple soups, salad, and bread in the Parish Hall. She will show a short video of the Seminary and give highlights of current happenings.

Linda will offer a similar presentation on  Sunday, February 28,  during the adult forum / coffee hour time following the  10:00  a.m. service in the Parish Hall. Fr. Pierre-Henry is an alum of VTS and welcomes these opportunities for the parish to learn more about his Seminary. All are welcome at either or both presentations.

For those planning to attend the meal and presentation on Saturday, the 27th, please sign-up in the Gathering Hall beginning this weekend or click here to RSVP.

Inquirers' Class Starts on March 13
Do you want to become a member of the Episcopal Church?

An eight-week series of Inquirers' Classes, to be led by The Rev'd Jack M. Wolter, will begin on March 13, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. in the Conference Room of St. Luke's Church to prepare those persons who have not yet been sacramentally confirmed (coming from a Protestant tradition) or received (coming from a Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox tradition) by a bishop in the Episcopal Church, or those who simply want to refresh their understanding of the practice of the Christian Faith in our tradition.

YOU are invited to join us for these presentations and discussions! We hope you will be a participant!
New at Chapel Rock - Family Camp, July 7-10, 2016
Unplug and Reconnect
Family Camp is an opportunity to use your family vacation time to unplug from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with your children and with the God who made you a family. It is challenging in this over-programmed, screen-filled culture to take the time out to be present to the people in our families, to really listen so that unexpected conversations about God have space to happen. Chapel Rock is a place where screens are put away and there is space and time to listen to God and to each other. We will experience prayer, music, free time exploring the beauty of Prescott, and old-fashioned camp fun, like arts and crafts, a campfire, the ropes course, and games. Invest in your family, and come join us! For more info or to register, visit Chapel Rock's website: www.chapelrock.net. (Scroll down to Family Camp Section.)
