Showtime Community (Youth) Theatre Performances at St. Luke's on April 21 - 7 p.m. & April 22 - 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
What happens when you put rivals in a room together? Have you wondered how Peter and the Wolf, Toto and the Wicked Witch, or a cat and mouse would cope when put in the same room, rekindling old grudges and witnessing two murders by an anonymous killer? Tensions run high as the mystery is unveiled in Showtime Community Theatre's presentation of "Storybook Reunion Murders." This fantastical and family-friendly farce is bursting with fun and hilarious puns that everyone from all generations will appreciate. Join the Aesop Academy and the alumni of Grimm High, two rivaling schools, as they must put aside differences and team up to solve the murder mystery. Find out who is the culprit on  Friday, April 21, at  7:00 pm and on  Saturday, April 22, at  3:00 pm & 7:00 pm at St. Luke's in the Parish Hall. Only $10 at the door; 18 and under are only $5.

Showtime Community Theatre is a non-profit youth theatre that has served the quad cities for nearly 7 years. Their mission statement: to provide a theatre experience for youth that not only educates but entertains and enriches the community. Learn more about Showtime Community Theatre by visiting their website:  showtimetheatre.org or finding them on Facebook.

Treasure Found!
A wedding band was found on Saturday, April 8, as the youth was gardening in the flower beds at St. Luke's. The ring reads 'SAH' and includes a date.

The ring is waiting for its owner. Inquire with Beth at the office, 778-4499.

Discover your Spiritual Gifts -- April 29 at 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., Parish Hall
Spiritual Gifts are given to all of us by God. Using these gifts to develop an active ministry with your church community can be a powerful experience. Learning about your Spiritual Gifts is a process of personal discovery and allows you to focus on who you are as a gifted and empowered person of God.

During this workshop, Canon Cathy Black will guide you as you complete a Spiritual Gifts Inventory. Through a group activity, she will help you identify how you can best use your gifts within the ministries that our church is involved with currently. She will also explore with us opportunities that our church may dream of doing.

This workshop is not about seeing what you are good at so that you can be pressured to volunteer. It is about working together to discern how to do God's will in the way that is best suited to who we are as unique and beloved individuals joined in community.
"Fabulous Flutes" Prescott Chamber Orchestra Performance on Saturday, April 29
The Prescott Chamber Orchestra has had the privilege on two previous occasions to welcome renowned flutist, Dr. Elizabeth Buck as special guest soloist. We are thrilled to once again feature Elizabeth, along with Dr. Magda Schwerzmann, as they perform the Double Concerto in E Minor by Telemann, and the Suite Modale by Ernest Bloch. The last concert of the 2016-2017 Season will lift your spirits.

The performance begins at 2:30 p.m. at St. Luke's on April 29. Tickets are available at Prescott Chamber Orchestra's website or at the door. Visit their website for more info!

Bible Study to resume Wednesday, May 3, at 5 p.m.

Prescott Chorale Performs May 5 & 6 at St. Luke's
The Prescott Chorale will be performing the Magnificent Music of Mozart, Friday and Saturday, May 5 & 6, at St. Luke's. Join them for an exciting evening on Friday to hear The Solemn Vespers, a selection of opera choruses, and performances by the three winners of the Young Artists Competition. The pre-concert talk by Dr. Will Fisher, professor emeritus, Yavapai College Music Department, begins at 7:00 pm with the performance at 7:30 pm. Come again on Saturday afternoon to hear the beautiful Requiem. Dr. Fisher will again present a brief talk at 2:30 pm, with the performance at 3:00 pm. The Chorale will be joined by a full orchestra. Tickets are available online at prescottchorale.org, or in the Gathering Hall after each service on April 23 and 30.
Pastoral Care: call for volunteers
Your Pastoral Care Team is currently ministering to more than 30 members of our congregation who are in need of St. Luke's ongoing support and pastoral care. Members of the Pastoral Care Team are Lucy Kemper (Chair), Chris Christy (Clergy Liaison for Pastoral Care), Keehna Sture (Parish Nurse), Jeanne Miller (TeleCare Ministry Chair), Sharon Neece, and Angeles Zarate (Vestry Liaison).

Telecare Ministry
Telecare is a ministry of love! Telecare is a lay-led pastoral ministry, begun in 2016, that expresses St. Luke's care and concern to EVERY member of our church family. For our Spring calling campaign, we are looking for people who are willing to make phone calls to simply "check in" with members of our congregation and to ask if they have any prayer concerns. Calls can be made from the comfort of our own home! During our Fall calling campaign, we heard responses like, "I've been a member of this church for 20 years, and this is the first time anyone from the church has called me. Thank you so much." "Really, you're not calling to ask for money? Wow, we need to do more of this." There will be a brief training session for our volunteers. If you would like to help us please contact Jeanne Miller busijeanne@yahoo.com or any member of the Pastoral Care Team.

Love Notes
Another ministry of love! Cards are sent to parishioners who are ill, recovering from surgery, or experiencing loss to let them know that their St. Luke's family is supporting them and praying for them. Pastoral Care will provide the cards and postage. Will you provide the time? This can be done from the comfort of your own home! If this is a ministry you are willing to help with, please contact Jeanne Miller busijeanne@yahoo.com or any member of the Pastoral Care Team.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors
Our team is in need of several more Lay Eucharistic Visitors who will take communion to those members of our church family who are homebound. What an amazing experience to share the news of the community, prayers and communion with people who may be feeling alone and lonely. Please contact Deacon Chris Christy cchristy1231@gmail.com or any member of the Pastoral Care Team if you feel called to this ministry.
Opportunities to Help!
Outreach Committee
The Outreach Commission is looking for some new members! The meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 4 p.m. in the Conference Room, next to the Parish Office. If that isn't a good time for you, your help is still needed. Please contact Mary Hallford at 928-759-0227 or Liz Kennedy at 928-350-8633 for more information or come to the next meeting and meet all the dedicated volunteers.

Attention Bakers!
We have two Cookie Funeral Reception teams who need your talents!  As a little twist on Hallmark-- "We care enough to serve the very best!"

Our two teams alternate serving at funeral receptions in our Parish Hall so you would not be asked to provide cookies for every funeral.  Please consider helping as we need: 1) people to bake just one batch of cookies for the reception 2) people to work at the reception, plating the cookies, etc. and, 3) people who would be able to help with both baking cookies and working.
This is a wonderful ministry. Please consider your time and talent, and contact Sally Phelps or Pat Eaton.  Thank you so much!

Volunteer Receptionists
The office is looking to build up the substitute desk volunteer list. So, if you are not looking for a regular weekly or bi-monthly position, but would like to help from time to time, this would be perfect!! Duties include greeting visitors, answering the phone, taking messages, and other tasks as may be needed. If you are interested, please call Ellie Lassiter at 928-778-9148 or leave a message for her at the office: 928-778-4499.
