Inquirers' Class begins in September

Do you want to become a member of the Episcopal Church?

An eight-week series of Inquirers' Classes, to be led by The Rev'd Jack M. Wolter, will begin on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. in the Conference Room of St. Luke's Church to prepare those persons who have not yet been sacramentally confirmed (coming from a Protestant tradition) or received (coming from a Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox tradition) by a bishop in the Episcopal Church, or those who simply want to refresh their understanding of the practice of the Christian Faith in our tradition.

YOU are invited to join us for these presentations and discussions! We hope you will be a participant!
GRAND OPENING was August 24, at 9am

The Food Pantry opened doors at  9:00 am  Friday after a blessing from Pierre-Henry.
If you would like to donate food items for the pantry, there will be a cart in the Parish Hall for food items and bags.  For monetary donations, please write "Food Pantry" in the memo line of your check.  The Outreach/Food Pantry Commission would like to thank all of you who have been  so generous in supporting St. Luke's newest ministry.

The grand opening for the Weekend Food Pantry was filled with an air of excitement and anticipation! Fr. Pierre-Henry Buisson offered a blessing just before the opening.

You may have seen this cross and wondered what it stood for?

As a constant reminder of our vows, Daughters of the King wear daily the emblem of The Order:   a silver pin/pendant with the inscription, "MAGNANIMETER CRUCEM SUSTINE",    which broadly translated means "with heart, mind and spirit uphold and bear the cross".   After a period of study and by reaffirmation of the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of their parish.   Through membership in the Order, you will:    develop strength and discipline through prayer, be challenged through study and be part of a community with other fantastic women of St. Luke's and other chapters around the world.    We find the Order of the Daughters of the King to be a safe place in our very busy world where women of all ages can support each other in Christ's love.    We believe
I am but one,
But I am one
I cannot do everything,
But I can do something.
What I ought to do,
By the grace of God
I will do.
Lord,
What will you have me do?

Daughters of the King meets the 2nd Sunday of each month at 11:30am1after the 10am1service.  If you are interested in experiencing "more" in your spiritual life the Daughters of the King is something you may want to ask some questions about.

A Fitting Salute to Those Who Served

A Big Thank You to all who donated to our local Yavapai County U.S. Vets Stand Down Clothing Drive!  Because of your generous hearts, our local vets in need now have over 225 items of clothing for men, 65 for women, more than 120 pairs of socks,a good stock of briefs, thermals, and a variety of knit caps, gloves, scarves, backpacks, boots, and shoes.  All told, that is more than one item each for the 300 vets in Yavapai County who need our help. Among the donations were a lovely assortment of men's dress pants and shirts, which the director of the drive said will help vets who sign up for the job fair lin September and prepare for job interviews.
Even before the first Sunday of this clothing drive, our bin was overflowing with bags of socks, undies, pants, and shirts galore and continued to be filled for the three weeks thereafter.  St. Luke's parishioners, you all are amazing! The vets salute you!
