Prayer in the Spirit of TaizĂ© Tonight

Want to experience a quiet and meditative form of prayer?

Join us for our monthly TaizĂ© service tonight at 6 p.m. Try something new! All are welcome!
Join us for the Quilt Show tomorrow!
Plan to attend "A Step Back in Time" Quilt Show tomorrow, 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., here at St. Luke's.  The Quilt Show admission is $4. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $4. Free childcare and a beginner sewing workshop for kids of all ages are also being offered. You may also buy chances to win the gorgeous quilt currently hanging up in the Gathering Hall.  Proceeds will support the youth mission trip this summer to Cortez, Colorado.

Lent 2016
Our Lenten program, featuring  Wednesdays Together  with Soup Suppers at 5 p.m. and Study at 6 p.m., concludes this Wednesday, March 16.

An additional offering of Study on Wednesday, March 16, is Spirituality & Creativity, led by Nancy Carmichael. It will be a fun workshop!

Weekly services include:
  • Wednesdays: Healing & Eucharist Service at 10 a.m.
  • Thursdays: Morning Prayer at 9 a.m.
  • Fridays: Stations of the Cross at 12 p.m.

March 16 Healing & Eucharist Service in memory of The Rev. Robert Greene
The Healing & Eucharist Service on Wednesday, March 16, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel will be celebrated in memory of Fr. Bob Greene.  Fr. Bob attended St. Luke's for about three years prior to moving to Texas.  He passed away November 17, 2015, in Houston, Texas.

In order to honor Fr. Bob's commitment to the youth of St. Luke's, a memorial is being established to assist in the acquisition of Bibles for the youth to take on their mission trip to Colorado this June as well as to provide Bibles for the youth room at the church.  Please make checks payable to St. Luke's Episcopal Church and put Fr. Bob Greene Memorial on the memo line.

Sign-up now for the Easter Breakfast, following the 8 a.m. service, or the Easter Brunch, following the 10 a.m. service, in the Gathering Hall. What a joyous day to celebrate together!
Inquirers' Class Starts this Sunday, March 13
Do you want to become a member of the Episcopal Church?  An eight-week series of Inquirers' Classes, to be led by The Rev'd Jack M. Wolter, will begin on March 13, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. in the Conference Room of St. Luke's Church to prepare those persons who have not yet been sacramentally confirmed (coming from a Protestant tradition) or received (coming from a Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox tradition) by a bishop in the Episcopal Church, or those who simply want to refresh their understanding of the practice of the Christian Faith in our tradition.  YOU are invited to join us for these presentations and discussions! We hope you will be a participant!
Yard Sale: You can help!
The youth group is having a yard sale on Saturday, April 30. Everything will be accepted except clothing.

The proceeds of the yard sale will benefit the youth mission trip to Cortez, Colorado, this June.

Dates and times for dropping off your yard sale items are as follows: Sunday, April 23 after 10 a.m. service; Monday, April 24, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday April 25, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Missing Tablecloths
Two dark blue tablecloths, which are normally used in the Conference Room for Newcomers' Luncheons, are currently unable to be located. If you know of their whereabouts, please call the church office, 928-778-4499. We'd like to be able to use them again!
Prescott Chamber Orchestra Concert on April 8
The next concert of the Prescott Chamber Orchestra, who holds weekly rehearsals at St. Luke's, will be on Friday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. here at the church. This concert f eatures Phoenix Symphony Principal Cellist Peter Anderegg performing Hayden Cello Concerto #1, as well as music by Rossini and Prokofiev. Plus, you will be delighted by student musician soloist, Shalom Eis. For more information or for tickets, click here.

Outreach Committee News
The Outreach Committee is now ready to receive "Requests for Funds" for the year 2016. If you are involved with a charitable organization or know of one that would benefit from funding from the Outreach Committee, the application forms are available in the Church Office or by clicking here. These should be returned to the Outreach Committee by March 31.
Food Donation Program
Thanks to each of you for your continued support of the weekly food donation program which benefits the area food banks. The food count was 112 items for the weekend of March 5-6, 2016.
