Calling Veterans and their families
Veterans' Day, November 11, is fast approaching. This year the veterans' celebration will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 after the 10 AM service. We would like to continue our previous years' practice of having a special coffee hour to honor our veterans. In order to honor our veterans, we are putting together a display recognizing current parishioner veterans and a list/display of remembrance for those no longer with us. Please email or drop off at the Church Office or in the Gathering Hall the following information: 1) name, 2) branch of service, 3) dates of service, and 4) a picture, preferably in uniform. For the spouses or children of deceased veterans, please do the same for your loved ones. We need this material as soon as possible so we can compile our honor display. We can copy your photos and return them to you!

Note: If you provided this material last year, there is no need to do it again. If you have questions or comments, please contact Tom and Susan Snodgrass at 928-308-2631.

View from the Loft
October 27, 2017

Good morning St. Luke's.

The Choir would like to give you a bird's eye view from the loft. Each Sunday we sit and watch your loving ways with each other as you enter for worship and to greet special friends and loved ones. It is a joy for us to be able to be part of this weekly worship.

As we prepare our anthems for worship we ask ourselves: "Will they like the anthem? Will it move some hearts? Will be sound good?" Click  here to read the rest of the note from the Choir of St. Luke's!

Journey to Generosity --
Reflection for October 29
A different sense of prosperity

by Glen Mitchell
There are people I know who live their lives very sacrificially, just like Moses and Paul did. Moses was called by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, something he was not willing to do at first; but God persisted, supporting Moses in his sacrifice doing what God wanted. The people I know do this too. They respond to God's call to care for the poor, the naked, the hungry and those in prison. In loving their neighbor, often far away from their own country, they live sacrificially to love God and their neighbor.
