St. Luke's Weekly Epistle
Week of December 29
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Happy New Year to you and yours.

May the light of Christ shine on you every day of this New Year.
May the joy of Christ dwell in you and radiate around you.
May the peace of Christ abide in your hearts and be contagious.
May the love of Christ burn in your hearts and kindle a fire of love around you.
In 2020, as we grow in our desire to know Christ and to make Christ known,
may we bring more love, peace, and reconciliation to our world.

Pierre-Henry+

*****Many Thanks*****

Thanks for all who prepared and served in any way and for making our three Christmas services beautiful and meaningful.
Thanks to all who made DSCA 2019 a HUGE success!
Over 800 dinners served!

Thanks to the work of the ladies of the Pronghorn Ranch Knit & Crochet Ministry in Prescott Valley, the ST. LUKE'S OUTREACH COMMITTEE was able to deliver over 600 hats, gloves & scarves to local non-profit organization this past year. Recipients included Cruzando Fronteras, YRMC Labor & Delivery Unit, AUTISTIC Advocacy & Awareness Group, Coyote Springs Elementary School, Mountain View Manor, Life Connections Pregnancy Center, and most recently, St. Luke's Angel Tree Project and St. Luke's Food Pantry. To-date, yarn has been donated by the community, including St. Luke's, but supplies are now running low. To that end, in December the Outreach Committee approved $200 toward replenishing the yarn stash for the Pronghorn Ranch group whose members continue to meet weekly to work on handmade items. Any and all members of the parish who knit and/or crochet and would like to donate items to this year-long collection are invited to contact Carol Covert [cecovert@msn.com] for more information. Donations of medium weight worsted
yarn are always welcome!
THANK YOU!  THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Many thanks to all who donated and assisted at the blood drive.
We collected 31 units,  giving the generous gift of life to so many.
Thanks to all who donated the beautiful Poinsettias that decorated our warm and inviting church during the Christmas season.
In memory of Peter Stephens, husband &

Chelsea Stephens, daughter by wife & mother, Chalys Stephens.

Transition in Safeguarding Administrators

As those who were at Diocesan Convention heard, Sharon Graves, who is the longest tenured employee at Diocesan House, is retiring at the end of this year. She has been a valuable employee in the many roles she has held in the office over the past 19 years, and was named an honorary Canon of the Diocese of Arizona at Convention. Bishop Reddall appreciates all she has done for the Diocese and wishes her well in her retirement!

Lauree Birchmeier from St. Luke's (Prescott) has been named to succeed Sharon, and will begin as the new Safeguarding Administrator on January 1.

Lauree will not have an office at Diocesan House, but will work remotely from Prescott. After January 1, she can be reached at lauree@azdiocese.org .
