The Way of Love
I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high, and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.                 --Ephesians 3:17-19
Presiding Bishop Michael Curry called the Church to practice The Way of Love.  This is an invitation to all of us to "grow more deeply with Jesus Christ at the center of our lives, so we can bear witness to his way of love in and for the world".  With this call, Bishop Curry  named seven practices that can help us grow deeper in our relationship with God, Jesus, and our neighbors as we also learn how to live into our Baptismal promises more fully.

The final Cursillo Ultreya will be this Saturday.  Trampus Tribbey will be speaking about the balance of the three legs of the Cursillo Stool - Piety, Study and Action.  12PM - 1 PM will be the potluck, and 1PM-3PM is the Ultreya.  All are welcome!  If you have never been to a Cursillo weekend and you want to see what it is all about, come and join us for a time of worship and fellowship. 
The Order of St. Luke will meet on Saturday, Nov. 2nd in the Conference Room from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. We will be studying and practicing Intercessory Prayer. Our time concludes with a Communion Service. You need not have been present earlier to join us. We are all learning together.
CPAP and BIPAP machines can be "recycled" through a medical professional and made available for those who need therapy and  are uninsured/underinsured.  If you have a used machine in your closet or have recently replaced your machine,  and do not know what to do with it, I can help you.  Please bring your used machines to church and leave outside the Deacon's office in the Education Wing and I will take it from there.  Any sealed supplies are also needed. Update From Bishop Jennifer Reddall
"Tuesday Nathan graduated from ICU to a regular room. Trying to get him off pain meds so he can be awake more. Today he endured his first PT/OT session. It was hard work, but showed the progress: he could kick a soccer ball with both legs while being supported in a sitting position on the bed. And he's begun eating real food. I alternate between joy at how far he's come, and shock at how small these milestones are. But if he can learn to walk, hold his head up, eat, etc once, we can do it again!

Annual Reports Due November 15, 2019
 
We are looking for annual reports for the year 2019 from commissions, church ministries, and our outside groups to include in the report we'll distribute prior to this year's Annual Parish Meeting. We'd like the St. Luke's annual report to be more detailed than in years past! We'd like to include church ministries such as Don't Spend Christmas Alone Dinner, Cursillo, Daughters of the King, Aloha G.M.C. of St. Luke's (Men's Group), EfM, and others not mentioned here!
 
Will the heads of those groups please submit a brief report of the commission's or ministry's 2019 activities/work to  info@slecp.org  no later than November 15, 2019.

On Saturday, Nov 16 at 1:00 pm at the Prescott Public Library  "Keeping the Earth: Religious and Scientific Perspectives on the Environment". will be presented.   The presentation will focus on current issues impacted by climate change and link to our spiritual and human responsibilities in the face of this global crisis.  After watching the video (see youtube link below), Dr Roy May and Dr Stefan Sommer co-present and then facilitate an audience conversation.  Click here for link
Last Chance to Sign Up

CPR, AED, First Aid class Saturday, Nov 2, 9-1pm in the parish hall. $35.  Scholarships are available.   This weekend is the last chance to sign-up in the gathering hall.  Now is the time to learn how to save a life.

Altar flowers are given in thanksgiving for our many blessings or a special event, in memory of a loved one, or to the glory of God. They are an offering that enrich our worship space. You may sign-up on the Altar Flowers poster in the narthex.  The suggested donation is $55.00. This is a change due to increased cost (however, any donation is accepted). If you would like to have a person or event named here, please notify the office.
