St. Luke's Weekly Epistle
Week of April 17, 2016
Calendar for April 16-22 & "Looking Ahead" available by clicking here.
Come and have some fun at the Telecare Ministry Workshop Tomorrow!
Rave reviews for the Telecare Ministry workshop that was held here yesterday! The same workshop will take place tomorrow, April 16, 9:30 - 11:10 a.m. in the Conference Room. There were lots of laughs and fun with Canon Dombek. No special skills or background required for this special ministry opportunity!! Come and find out what it's all about!

"TeleCare is a quiet ministry, but it has mattered a lot...It helps keep far flung, busy urban congregants connected, and people 'appreciate the call, often saying it came just when they needed it.'...volunteer teams spend one hour, one the church, making calls and then praying together for each person contacted, naming each joy and concern."

Come learn how to incorporate this vital, lay pastoral ministry of caring within your congregation, and see how it affects their relationship with you, your church, and your community. The workshop lasts only 100 minutes!
Ultreya is tomorrow, April 16!

United Thank Offering - May 1
U.T.O. is a ministry of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through U.T.O., men, women and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our many daily blessings. Those who participate in U.T.O. discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. U.T.O. is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the U.T.O. monies to support mission and ministry throughout the Episcopal church and the Provinces of the Anglican Communion in the developing world.
Baptismal Covenant
Will you continue in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of the bread, and in the prayers? BCP, p. 304

The Parish Library has resources to help us when we focus on this part of the Baptismal Covenant. The New Testatment, Jesus, Devotions and Prayer sections of the library are good places to start. The library is just off the Parish Hall. Check out is on the honor system.

Take any book home and when you return it just put it in the basket by the door instead of re-shelving it. Any questions, click here to email Mary Queen.

Helping in the Parish Office?
Would you consider helping in the office during the week on an occasional basis as a fill-in receptionist at the front desk? This is an important ministry! Our wonderful crew of volunteers at the front-desk greet those who call and walk through our doors in addition to an assortment of light office work. It's a great way to meet some more folks at church and learn more about how the office functions at St. Luke's. We hope you will consider helping us out in this way! If interested, or to learn more, contact Beth Parknowitz by clicking here.
