Special Adult Forum on March 26: Love in Action/Malawi
Phenious Chuma will be speaking after the 10 AM service, during coffee hour, on Sunday, March 26, in the Parish Hall. Pheni is the Executive Director of Love In Action/Malawi, and is getting a Master's Degree in Sustainability at Northern Arizona University. He will be joined by his wife, Annie, and their 3 year old, Ethan.

Pheni's orphanage in Salima, Malawi, was started by Pheni to help the children of Salima.  Love in Action provides a breakfast, and a school from 9-12, then a lunch for over 200 children each day.  The children are taken care of by the community in many cases where there is no home for them.  Pheni says that their community is very important to them, and they are one family in Salima.

Phenious Chuma is very interested in Sustainability for his country, and he feels that there are many areas in the Mission Field that need to be studied and changed.  Phenious will be speaking to us about some of his far-reaching ideas that are refreshing and new, and he is a wonderful speaker for the cause that he feels so passionately about helping.

Support St. Luke's Youth Group
We would like the youth group at St. Luke's to take over the responsibility for planting blooming flowers/bulbs - and then the ongoing maintenance -  of the raised flower beds along the walkway between the parking lot and the church. This is important to our appearance as it is the first thing you see as you enter our facility! We plan for them to plant the new plants on  Saturday, April 8. Please support them by bringing blooming plants, such as creeping/cascading dwarf roses, bulbs, pansies, or other perennials, or monetary donations designated to buy the same, to the church on  April 5-7.
Also, donations for Easter flowers this year will be used to buy live potted plants and these will also be planted by the youth group in the beds around the church following the Easter services!
Update on Ernie Howell
Ernie Howell will become a Novice in the order of Community of St. Mary of the Annunciation at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at St Augustine's in Tempe. All who wish to attend are invited to do so!
Highway Clean-up on April 1
Did you know St. Luke's has a stretch of Highway 89, between mile posts 307 and 309, south of Prescott that is kept clear of litter by a small group of our parishioners? St. Luke's is part of the Adopt-a-Highway program. The spring clean-up of our stretch of Hwy 89 will take place on Saturday, April 1, at 8 a.m. We have permission to park in the Prescott Pines Mobile Home Resort at 1520 White Spar Rd. Please contact  Eddie & Tigger Gillam  for more information, 602-510-2621, or If this is for you, your help would be much appreciated!
Gary Arbuthnot: Stage & Screen
The Prescott Chorale is performing with Gary Arbuthnot and his Orchestra, on  Sunday, April 2 , at  3 p.m.  at the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center. A lively selection of orchestral music, featuring Gary Arbuthnot, a renowed Irish Flautist, and choral works and show tunes where Gary will be joined by singers form the Prescott Chorale and the Yavapai College Master Chorale. Tickets are available at the YCPAC website, .
Help Wanted!
Help! Two people are needed to help out at the 8 a.m. Easter Day service (Sunday, April 16) as greeters. Because April has five Sundays and we have several extra services during Holy Week, we are stretched to the limit! Easter Day will bring many visitors and we want to be sure they are welcomed and greeted properly. If you can help with this, please contact Linda Taylor at or at 928-379-5936.
Volunteer Receptionists
The St. Luke's office staff is looking for reception desk volunteers for Thursday mornings (9:00 am to Noon), twice a month.  We are also looking to build up the substitute desk volunteer list, if not looking for a regular position, but would like to help from time to time. Duties include greeting visitors, answering the phone, taking messages, and other tasks as may be needed. If you are interested, please call Ellie Lassiter at 928-778-9148 or leave a message for her at the office: 928-778-4499.
Registration closing soon!
Family Camp-July 7-10, 2017
 - Unplug and Reconnect
Family Camp is an opportunity to use your family vacation time to unplug from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with your children and with the God who made you a family. It is challenging in this over-programmed, screen-filled culture to take the time out to be present to the people in our families, to really listen so that unexpected conversations about God have space to happen. Chapel Rock is a place where screens are put away and there is space and time to listen to God and to each other. We will experience prayer, music, free time exploring the beauty of Prescott, and old-fashioned camp fun, like arts and crafts, a campfire, the ropes course, and games. Invest in your family, and come join us!
For more information or to register, visit Chapel Rock's website:  or contact Jana Sundin, Canon for Children's Ministries, at 602-254-0976 or
