Ministry Opportunities
Our first adult education will take place on Sunday October 3rd, right after worship.

Have you thought about... how your faith is affected by the tough stuff?
This Sunday, we'll hear hear from Ellie McCann, where she’ll share how her faith was affected by her cancer diagnosis.
COVID Update
An email was sent out on Sept. 29th with some Covid updates for our congregation. Here are a few of the highlights, and the full version of the letter can be found here.

  • Masks will continue to be worn inside the building for worship and meetings
  • Congregational singing is happily welcomed back with masks on
  • You will be invited up to the altar to receive communion/blessing with the prefilled cups we have been using. You will then be directed back to your seats to take communion and then dispose of it in the baskets provided. If you feel more comfortable remaining in your seats, communion cups will still be offered before worship begins.
  • Choir will begin rehearsing per the leadership of Donna Peterson. All choir members will be asked to sing with masks/shields on, as this is the same expectation we hold for the congregation.
  • Fellowship time will remain outside as long as the weather permits, then will be moved indoors. For new member Sunday and Taste of Tanzania, we will be offering fellowship inside.
  • Holiday Bazaar is still on the calendar, however eating food will not be permitted at the bazaar, but we welcome and strongly suggest to-go containers for the famous choir chili and bake sale.

If you have any questions or comments, please send an email to our Covid team at covidteam@stmarkcp.org
ELCA Youth Gathering - July 24-28, 2022
All youth in grades 8th - 12th are invited to join us this summer for a chance in a lifetime trip! You'll join 30,000 other ELCA youth for a week of worship, service and growing in your faith! Informational packets are available in the narthex. Adults - we'll need leaders as well - come to the meeting if you're interested!
Tanzania Quilt Scholarship Tickets are for sale!

Don't miss your opportunity to win this beautiful quilt, all while supporting our Tanzania friends. Tickets are $10. You can also purchase them online via this link as well.
If you have any questions, please chat with Anita Pouchnik. Thank you!
For this month’s experiment, we are inviting you to give up something that you regularly spend money on. Such as a coffee, dining out, or a special treat for yourself. Place that money in the envelope that is provided, and bring it back to church, to help support our sister congregation in Tanzania. This may seem small, but it’s a great fasting practice. You can pick up your envelope outside the narthex or you can always make a donation to Tanzania on line as well.
If you haven't picked up the last few months of experiments, they are available at church
First Communion Class
We will offer a first communion class on Wednesday October 13th at 6pm. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the form which can be found under ‘Forms’ on our website or by following this link. If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Mollie or Jenny. We will celebrate their first communion together in church on Sunday October 17th.

Become a member of St. Mark!
We will be recognizing new members on Sunday October 10th. Please join us as we continue to grow our community of faith. If you are interested in joining the church, please talk with Pastor Mollie or Jenny.
Updated Sunday School Model!
In order for our new model of Sunday School to be successful, we need people to lead these rotations. If you love art projects, sign up for an art rotations or all of them! Or if you love science, sign up for those. It's a commitment, but a commitment on your terms and schedules. This is a way to fulfill your promises that you made while each of these little ones were baptized.

To see the dates and the topics, we have a sign up in the narthex. If you'd like more information, either call the office or send Jenny an email.

There are supplies that we need for the year as well - an Amazon wish list has been created! https://a.co/1OA0pMO
If you’re looking for another way to volunteer, we need some help going our supplies in the basement. If you’re interested in helping for a few hours, please let Jenny know. Thank you!
2021 St Mark Bazaar Update
The Holiday Bazaar will be held on November 13 from 9:00 -3:00.  The coordinators this year are Susan Koosmann, Nora Hemquist and Cindy Huseby.

Covid will mean some adjustments but we’re excited to be able to hold this event again! We are very grateful for the volunteers who have expressed willingness to help with the Bazaar this year. We have a volunteer interested in leading a group to decorate and another who will spearhead sign placement and Jenny has designed an ad/flyer for additional advertisement.

This year Social Ministry will be offering desserts for sale and in order to follow Covid protocol, Choir’s famous chili lunch will be offered “to go”. We’re hoping our warm weather continues so we can offer outdoor seating for lunch. So far we have not heard from any church group or individual who would like to organize and run a White Elephant Sale so as of now we will not be having that this year. If you signed up to help someone will be contacting you in early October to hook you up with the right group.
If you wanted to help and haven’t yet signed up just let us know what you would like to do.
Livestream Update
If you would like to help offset the cost, please put ‘Sound System Move” on your donation or using the online donation line names Sound System Move. The remaining amount will come from the capital improvements fund.

If you have any questions, please let the council know.
