DID YOU EAT TODAY? THANK A FARMWORKER. The OC Interfaith Committee to Aid Farmworkers fundraiser dinner is here at St. Mark on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 5:00pm benefiting the National Farmworker Ministry.  There will be a skit by 4 th graders from Glenn Martin School about Cesar Chavez, a short video “Mariela’s Story” and an all female Mariachi band  Colibri.  If you are interested in attending contact Suzanne Darweesh.

Come and celebrate this wonderful St. Mark tradition ~ and get some great, non-commercial, feel-good shopping done for causes that matter to you.  We will be hosting 26 charities.  And, our Peasant Lunch and fancy homemade desserts will be offered.  The Market is 100% underwritten by the Peace & Justice Commission.  
*We are taking sign-ups for lentil soup (recipe provided) and cornbread makers and homemade dessert bakers.  We also need servers in the kitchen.  And, set-up and take-down helpers.  So, please, stop by the Information Table on Sunday and we’ll connect you with a job you’ll love.  Thank you!! 
PEACE AND GLOBAL WITNESS OFFERING UPDATE: The Peace and Justice Commission wishes to thank the congregation for its special generosity toward the special offering on October 5/6. Gifts totaled more than $5,000, resulting in our gift to the Orange County Justice Bond Fund of $1,288. Jennifer Lee Koh, Esq., President of OCJF, expressed her gratitude to St. Mark., and announced that the Fund has assisted in the release of two more southern California residents. Thanks, everyone!

 PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN IN THE PRESBYTERY OF LOS RANCHOS:    2019 Fall Gathering being held on Sat., Nov. 16, 9:30 - 12:00 noon  at First Grace Presbyterian Church in Long Beach. Titled  Asylum Defined . BREW THEOLOGY PRESENTS “BrewsGiving 2019” Thursday, Nov. 21st, from 7-9pm. Join your Brew Theology friends for a challenging discussion on race and privilege. This event will be a Thanksgiving potluck and "beerluck.” Please bring a dish and a favorite beer to share! To limit waste, please bring your own cutlery, glasses, and plates (preferably reusable). THANKSGIVING AT ST. MARK: Are you in town for Thanksgiving and looking for people to share a meal? Sign up now for the St. Mark Thanksgiving dinner. We gather at 3:30 and eat at 4:00. There will be turkey, gravy, and drinks provided and you can bring a side dish, salad, or dessert to share. We're also looking for people to help with set up, clean up, and everything in between. Saturday December 7 th , St. Mark will be host to 80-100 people. A joyous party for human trafficking survivors, their families, staff, and volunteers to celebrate the holidays from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm.    You can help: bring a dish for the luncheon, help set/serve the meal, serve a shift as a playground monitor, help at the kids’ craft table, serve as a greeter, decorate, or add your muscle to set-up and/or tear-down immediately before or after the event.  There is opportunity for the whole congregation to get involved in the festivities . BREAST CANCER ANGELS FUNDRAISER:   The Deacons are looking for  two additional people to be our guest (free) at the St. Mark table on Saturday, December 7 th beginning at 10:00 a.m. The event is being held at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. FAMILY PROMISE IS IN NEED OF OUR HELP.   The specific requests are for breakfast, lunch and dinners or grocery store gift cards for the week of November 10th to 17th. There are also four overnight host spots open the 13th to 16th. The Families (currently four families) will be staying at First United Methodist Church of Orange at 161 S.
