September 10, 2021
Dear St. Mark Families,

This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on the United States of America and one of the deadliest days ever on American soil.

As a Catholic school community, let us pray for the lives that were lost in the catastrophic events of September 11, 2001 and let us give thanks for the selfless courage of the first responders.

Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Warner

Back to School/Meet the Teacher Night

St. Mark School faculty and staff are excited to return to in-person Back to School/Meet The Teacher night for the 2021-2022 school year. As always, Back to School Night is for parents only.

Grades K through 4: Tuesday, September 14th, 7:00pm-8:00pm

Grades 5 through 8: Thursday, September 16th, 7:00pm-8:00pm

After consulting with Nurse Frate and Stratford Nursing Supervisors, it has been determined that due to COVID protocols and available classroom spacing, Back to School/Meet the Teacher Night will be limited to 1 parent per family per night. Masks are required, regardless of vaccination status.

Each classroom teacher will send a Zoom link to parents prior to his or her designated Back to School/Meet the Teacher night for those that cannot attend to join virtually. Virtual sessions will be recorded and can be sent to parents upon request.

Please direct any specific questions regarding Back to School/Meet the Teacher night to your child's teacher. For COVID related questions, please contact Nurse Frate, fratew@stratk12.org
Morning Drop Off

Parents utilizing the drive up "drop and go" car line are asked to please pull up to the stop sign and crossing guard. When students exit the vehicle, they will be directed to walk inside the cones, away from cars, to their designated entrance.

While students may need to briefly walk along the sidewalk, 5 cars can unload at one time and all students to enter the building by 7:45am. This will allow classes to arrive in church on time for 8:00am mass on their assigned weekly mass day.

As a reminder, students in Grades 3 through 8 are requested to utilize the drive up "drop and go" car line beginning on Monday, September 13th.

Please note: If someone other than yourself is dropping off, please relay this important information.
In the Classroom

Edmentum Diagnostic testing has begun for student in Grades 2 through 8. This computer-based, adaptive assessment provides teachers with performance data on students' individual Math, Reading, and Language Arts skills. This data is just one piece of information that teachers use to develop small group and personalized instruction in the classroom.
