Dear Fellow Parents,
There is a week to go before Prize Day events begin! Regular classes and assessments are complete and another Lion Term is in full swing. We have enjoyed hearing about the variety of student designed programs and experiences and are looking forward to presentations by many of the Forms next week.
Camilla and I, along with Parent Annual Fund Chair, Mike Pellini, are very excited to announce that we have reached a
76 percent
participation rate for the year so far. Thank you to all who have generously donated. We are striving to break 90 percent. If you’ve already made your gift, thank you, and if you haven’t done so yet, please consider
becoming a donor and making your Annual Fund gift today
using the following link:
St. Mark’s Annual Fund Giving
. Your contributions directly support the ongoing programs of the School that enrich our students’ learning experience. We greatly appreciate any gift you can make to the Annual Fund.
Finally, we would like to thank all of you for the tremendous support and spirit you’ve brought to the activities and programs throughout the 2018-2019 School year. It has helped make for a very successful year for St. Mark’s, the faculty and staff, students and our parent community. We could not begin to list all the ways parents have participated by giving their time, making donations and opening their homes to parents and students. This active participation is what makes St. Mark’s a special place for our children and we are grateful for your ongoing support.
With our best wishes for a happy and safe summer,

The
Annual Fund
has crossed the $2 million mark! To date, St. Mark’s has raised just over $2.01 million for the Annual Fund, 85 percent toward our total goal of $2.37 million! Parent gifts total $759,368. Thank you to the many parents (76 percent) who have made a gift to date. IV Form parents are still in the lead to win the Lion
’
s Pride award for highest Form participation in the Annual Fund with 82 percent participation. See the chart below for an update on participation from all of the Forms.
Our goal is to achieve
90 percent parent participation
. To reach this ambitious goal, we still need gifts from 45 families.
A gift of any amount, even $25, helps move the needle toward our goal.
If you have supported the Annual Fund in the past, please consider renewing your support today. If your family is new to the School or has not supported the Annual Fund before, please consider starting a new tradition of giving today. To make your gift you can reply to the appeal that was recently mailed, or you can
make your gift online today
.
You may know that the Annual Fund underwrites 10 percent of the School’s operating budget so
every gift makes an important and immediate impact.

Each year, the Parents
’
Association coordinates potluck gatherings for each Form in the fall and spring.
THANK YOU
to the spring potluck hosts so far: Cathy and Dan Gould (III Form),
Eileen Fava and Michael McCarthy (IV Form) and
Shalini and Prem Yerabothu (V Form).
The VI Form Parent Potluck will take place on Thursday, June 6, at the home of Diane and Mark Bechard in nearby Ashland (after the VI Form Dance send-off). There are nearly 70 parents planning to attend, so it is sure to be a great time as parents celebrate the end of the year together.

Parent/Faculty/Staff Book Club
|
|
The St. Mark’s Parent/Faculty/Staff book club recently held its last meeting of the 2018-2019 year. Thank you to all of the parents and employees who participated this year, and special thanks to co-chairs Joanne Flathers and Laurie Kalapinski for their leadership and organization of the club.
Each year the club selects several titles to read over the summer; our summer 2019 selections are below.
We look forward to gathering together for the first book club meeting of the 2019-2020 year in late September or early October. Read whichever titles appeal to you over the summer, and our discussion in the fall will center on the group's top picks.

We hope you are able to join the St. Mark
