Women of St. Mark's

Thank you to all who contributed bakery items, handmade items to sell or worked at the Bazaar, helped with Set-up, peeled potatoes for Lefse, or spent time in the kitchen making Lefse.  A big thank you  to the property team for moving our boxes down and back up to the attic and putting up the Bazaar sign (and taking it down)!  Thanks also to our wonderful church staff who helped us constantly with any need we had, even keeping me on track!

Thank you to all who visited our Bazaar.  Your purchase helps our church and our community.  We will publish the amount made next week and will let everyone know how the proceeds will be distributed later.

The Bazaar was such a success!  We had so many different items all beautifully prepared.  The Parish Commons was ablaze with Christmas and Fall and Seahawks and baby items in every price range.  I hope you all found something to take home and enjoy!

We are so blessed to have so many who contributed so much to make our Bazaar a success.  If I did not get a chance to thank you individually, please know that I am so thankful for each of you!

Stay tuned for information on our upcoming Advent Brunch on December 2nd.

Joint Catholic/Lutheran Worship Service

Joint Catholic/Lutheran worship service:  "New Birth/Living Hope", Tuesday, November 14th, 7pm, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, 7112 S 12th St, Tacoma

As we remember both the joys and sorrows of the centuries since the Protestant Reformation, Lutheran and Catholic Christians come together to worship our common Savior.  This service is the outcome of a year of conversations between church leaders from many parishes in Pierce County, including St. Mark's (Pastor Ruud, Pastor Shjerven and Deacon Ingelaurie Lisher will all be a part of the service).  Everyone is invited to participate in this historic worship service!  (If you would like to sing in an intergenerational mass choir, please arrive at St. Charles at 6pm)

New Community Group "Third Quarter"

Please join us this Thursday at St. Mark's, November 9th at 6pm for the  "Third Quarter" Pot Luck and Game night.

Bring food to share and a card or board game (optional).
We plan to project the Seahawks game on the screen in the Parish Commons.

Contact Martha, Steve, or Lori, if questions, or the
St. Mark's Church office:  253.752.4966.

Calling All Bakers

St. Mark's will be joining with St. Patrick's Catholic Church to provide goodies for the reception after the joint Catholic/Lutheran worship service at St. Charles Borromeo on Tuesday, November 14th.  We are in charge of the baked goods (a Lutheran strength!)  If you are able to provide a few dozen cookies for this reception, please bring them to church by Tuesday morning (11/14).  Thank you!

Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers!

Our local Habitat affiliate invites you to come help build houses in the Tillicum neighborhood. Earlier this summer, teams from St. Mark's worked on the Building on Faith house, and now even more houses are being built in the same area. There are two ways to get involved: If you would like to pick a date and join others who will be at the site that day, you can visit the web site ( www.tpc-habitat.org ) and use the VolunteerUp module to sign up. Or, you can volunteer to be part of a group from St. Mark's by contacting Deborah Herforth (email  deborahherforth@yahoo.com , or phone  206-372-1433 ). Please come out and join the fun!
Family Housing Network Coming December 30th

Thanks to all of the faithful volunteers who have committed to this ministry over the last four years and to those of you who signed up on Sunday, October 29.  We welcome new volunteers to join us!   The sign up table will be available again on the following Sundays:  November 19, 26, and December 3.  Elizabeth Skarshaug

Wednesday Midweek Renewal; 6:15pm
Radical Lutherans, Lutheran Radicals--Throughout history there have been individuals whose deep roots in Lutheran theology have led them to counter-cultural action and social transformation. All are welcome.
