Women of St. Mark's Bazaar!

Our Annual Bazaar is on Saturday, Nov. 4th.  We will be selling handmade items, books and collectibles.  We will be serving Swedish pancakes for breakfast and soup for lunch brought to you by the Waschers.  We will need pies for the lunch and lots of baked items to sell at the Bazaar.

Please join us for Lefse making on Thursday, Nov 2nd, or join us on Friday, Nov. 3rd for set-up.  Fill put a sign-up sheet to help us prepare for the Bazaar.

This Bazaar helps our congregation and our community.  Sign-up sheets to help or just let us know what you are contributing to sell at the Bazaar.  Visit our table in the Narthex to fill out a sheet.  Great time to recycle your books and find something new!

Items can be dropped off at the church on Friday Nov 3rd.  We don't have a lot of storage space so please try to bring everything to the church on Friday.  We will be setting up the Parish Commons and pricing items that day.

Pictures of Loved Ones Welcome on All Saint's Sunday

This coming Sunday, November 5 is All Saints Sunday and you are invited to bring framed pictures of loved ones who have died. As you arrive for worship, you may bring your pictures forward and set them on the tables that will be placed in front of the altar. Along with the candles that surround the pictures, it will be a beautiful reminder of the great company of saints that we all belong to as children of God.

Joint Catholic/Lutheran Worship Service

Joint Catholic/Lutheran worship service:  "New Birth/Living Hope", Tuesday, November 14th, 7pm, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, 7112 S 12th St, Tacoma

As we remember both the joys and sorrows of the centuries since the Protestant Reformation, Lutheran and Catholic Christians come together to worship our common Savior.  This service is the outcome of a year of conversations between church leaders from many parishes in Pierce County, including St. Mark's (Pastor Ruud, Pastor Shjerven and Deacon Ingelaurie Lisher will all be a part of the service).  Everyone is invited to participate in this historic worship service!  (If you would like to sing in an intergenerational mass choir, please arrive at St. Charles at 6pm)

A Reformation 500 Service

A Reformation 500 service is being held at PLU in Lagerquist Hall on the afternoon of Sunday, November 5th.  Everyone is happily invited to attend this coming-together of people from Lutheran congregations all over our area. Our St. Mark's children's choirs have been invited by the bishop to sing the offertory, which is a special honor for them that they are excited about.  An additional opportunity exists that day for all adult singers to be part of the mass-choir for this event, which will have a rehearsal at Lagerquist Hall at 1:30 pm on the day of the event. Inquire with Cooper Sherry to take part in the mass-choir.

New Community Group "Third Quarter"

Christian friends in the "third quarter" of life are welcome to join a new community group at St. Mark's. Lori Clark and Steve and Martha Ward invite age 50ish -75ish to create a supportive community to share hope, laughter, and love through active events.
