NEWS & EVENTS
A Bountiful Harvest

A big thank you to Karen Kremer for organizing, and those who came out on Tuesday, August 2, to help with the harvest at the Washington Food Pantry Garden. In cooperation with other volunteers in the community over 426 lbs of produce was harvested. The majority went to WHIP and the remaining was taken to Sophie's Kitchen.
Special Council Meeting 8/3/2022

The Council met Wednesday, August 3, at 6:30pm to meet a new interim Pastor, and to discuss and vote on important items. The Council sent out a communication you can read here if you missed it. Some of the items discussed:
  • Approval of Interim Pastor Rev. Kendra Nolde
  • Appointment of a new Call Committee Members
  • Extension of Blended Worship service
  • New ping pong tables for youth and young adult ministries
St. Mark's Promotional Video

As St.Mark's continues its journey finding a new Sr. Pastor, a promotional video has been proposed. Not only could this video help attract a Sr. Pastor, it could also be used to share with new members, on the website for visitors, on Facebook. On Sunday, August 7, Joe Gleason will be recording video and would love to have people who agreed to being recorded sit in the front rows of the sanctuary. It would also be great to get some shots of children having their backpack's blessed. For those willing to be identifiable in the video there will be a photo/video release at the back of the sanctuary next to the bulletins, or you can download it here.
New Member Inquiry Class

Interested in joining St Mark's? Perhaps you recently joined and were unable to attend a new member class in person. Maybe you just want to learn more about the Lutheran Church, the ELCA, or about St. Mark's. We are happy to announce that a three-week new member inquiry class will begin Sunday, September 11 at 9:30 am, during Fellowship Hour. The schedule is as follows:

September 11th - Lutheran History, Beliefs and Practices by Pastor Hanson
September 18th - attend the Opportunity Fair
September 25th - History and overview of St Mark's
Potluck Brunch

Many have commented about how nice it has been to see everyone due to the blended worship service. The Fellowship Team would like to offer another opportunity to gather together and get reacquainted. On Sunday, August 21, in place of the regular Fellowship hour, there will be a potluck brunch. St. Mark's will provide a ham. But, in the grand tradition of potluck's we need your help. Scan the QR code to the right, or click here, to let us know you're bringing an egg casserole, a side, or a dessert. While a dish to pass is not required, it is encouraged to ensure we have enough for everyone to enjoy.

All students will be invited to come forward to the altar area at the beginning of the service to receive a blessing and a prayer for the upcoming school year.
