St. Mark's Weekly E-blast

We gather, connect, and serve so all may experience the love of Christ.

This Sunday March 30 is our 5th Sunday, Family Service! The Family Service is our opportunity to worship together with all our children and youth. There is no Sunday School program that morning so that children and youth can come with their parents or friends and attend and participate in the worship service.

We will have a “Wisdom Race”, a time of discussion, and special music that is geared to our young people.  When that time together is complete the youth and children can be seated in the “Kid Zone”, the “Youth Row”, or return to sit with their parents or friends.

This is not a service for the children and youth, but it is a service with them. All congregation members will have the opportunity to color a bulletin and join in with the discussion and music. Pastor Lynn will be sharing a message on wisdom.

Our Family Service offers the entire St. Marks community an opportunity to worship as a total community, all ages together to share fellowship, praise, prayer and the love of our God. Our Family Service allows the ministry areas of St. Marks to work together to create a special, community worship. This mingling of talents and areas of expertise is what creates a greater understanding of how we as a congregation “Gather, Connect and Serve so All May Experience the Love of Christ”

Please join us!

Blessings,

Pastor Deb

WOW! This weekend is the Treasure Trove Rummage Sale- one of the Youth Group's most fun fundraisers! This awesome event helps to fund Youth Missions and Ministry, and it is SO MUCH FUN, too! There are so many ways to help. 1) Bring us your treasures! The Fellowship Hall will be open Thursday and Friday to accept treasures. 2) Come hang out with Rachel Thursday and/or Friday to help set things up and price items (sign up here). The most help is needed on Thursday for this, but either or both days is super helpful! and 3) Come buy all the things!! We will be selling 7-12 on Saturday. See you there!

PLUS all of this...

Lenten Missions Projects

Did you know we are one of the first churches that began to support TIHAN? Each year, we host one of ther monthly lunches where those living with HIV/AIDS and their caregivers receive a care bag of goodies. As we prepare for St. Mark's month to host, we are gathering our portion of the care bags. We are collecting 120 deodorants,120 shaving creams—NOT travel sized-and 360 disposable razors. With funding currently being cut for many services, you can imagine that our Care Partners are especially in need of our help at this time. Bring your items to church on Sunday!

Contact Pat Small at 520-429-4453 or patriciawsmall@gmail.com if you can volunteer at the lunch on April 17th or have other questions.

Summer Buddy Packs

Our food collection is going great! Thanks for your donations! Pick up a bookmark on Sunday to see what items we are collecting for these Buddy Packs. These packs are help feed students at Estes and Nash Elementary Schools over the summer. This Sunday, we will collect packages of fruit cups (please bring containers that do not require a can opener and are shelf stable). We are collecting at both campuses. You can make a huge difference in the life of a child this summer!

Stuffies for Sunday School

Stop by the "Sunday School" donation table between services on Sunday, March 30 to drop off a new stuffed animal (small - medium size) for our local police and fire departments. Stuffed animals are given to children during crisis situations.

The change we seek will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time to get up and do something. Church and Society is a group dedicated to Social Justice. We need people who are passionate about issues such as racial equity, LGBTQIA+ rights and inclusion, creation care, political action for immigration and other issues. Help out with one issue or one event to fill others and yourself with hope. Contact Karen Fog for more information.
