St. Mark's Feasibility Study
I hope you received an email on Monday, December 9th from Erin Tharp of Episcopal Church Foundation (subject line: St. Mark's, Evanston, IL Feasibility Study). This email provides the link to a Tentative Case Statement and Feasibility Survey for our upcoming Capital Campaign. It is so important that everyone participate so that we have a good sense of what is possible for the future of St. Mark’s. So, if you haven’t already, please do look for that email (check your SPAM, if necessary). If you cannot find an email, please send an email to me at rector@stmarksevanston.org so that I can look into what happened. All survey responses are due December 24 so that we can receive the feedback at our Annual Meeting at the end of January. Thank you everyone!

Staying Connected
Creation Care Team Meeting THIS SUNDAY: You are invited to join us at the next Creation Care team meeting on Sunday, December 15 at 8:45 am in Bethlehem Chapel. If you would like an agenda or have questions contact Allison Ashley at  creation@stmarksevanston.org.

“Do-It-Yourself” Christmas Pageant! A what?! That’s right, at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, all are invited to gather for worship BUT dressed as your favorite pageant character – Mary, Joseph, shepherd, sheep, or angel (note: no Wise Ones – they don’t show up until January 6th). As we worship we will build the scene. It will be a glorious celebration of that first Christmas so many years ago. Want to help with set design? Please contact Pastor Debra at rector@stmarksevanston.org or Liz McElhatton at mcelhattonliz@gmail.com

Christmas Pageant Preparation: Want to help with set design? Children and adults are invited to join Liz McElhatton and Pastor Debra from 9:30 – 10:15 this Sunday, December 15 in the classroom on the main floor of the parish house as we prepare for the Christmas pageant. Speaking parts will also be assigned at this time.

Last Jubi-latte and Tea Deum of 2019:  Pastor Debra looks forward to welcoming you to a time of conversation over coffee or tea at Cupitol (812 Grove Street) next Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Come sit and chat!

Vestry: Did you know that the most recent Vestry Meeting minutes are always posted on the bulletin board outside of the volunteer office? Now they can also be viewed online by clicking   this link!
Worship & Formation
Acolyte Retreat TOMORROW: On Saturday December 14th from 10 a.m. – 12 noon , Pastor Debra will hold an Acolyte Retreat. This is for ALL acolytes – those who have been doing this for years and those who are brand new or just curious. Can YOU be an acolyte? If you are in 1st grade or older (up to age 103) you are welcome to be an acolyte! Please RSVP to Pastor Debra at rector@stmarksevanston.org OR talk to her after worship to let her know if you are interested in being an acolyte and/or if you can attend this retreat! Being an acolyte is a great way to help lead worship at St. Mark’s and a wonderful way to remember and honor our beloved Acolyte Master, Bruce Gaede.

Christmas Flowers: One of the beautiful ways in which we mark the difference between the season of Advent and the joyous celebration of the Feast of the Incarnation is in the way we adorn our sanctuary. All are invited to help us create a festive display by contributing money toward poinsettias. Contributions may be given in memory of a loved one or in thanksgiving or honor of someone special. The requested minimum donation is $20 per name. After our Christmas celebrations, the plants are delivered to our homebound parishioners and to others in the community to enjoy. Forms are available in the Parlor or by emailing Timothy at office@stmarksevanston.org . Please make checks payable to St. Mark's Episcopal Church and indicate "Christmas Flowers" in the memo line or place cash in an envelope clearly marked Christmas Flowers. You may also use PayPal by going to www.stmarksevanston.org and clicking the Donate button. Requests to remember or honor loved ones in this way, must be in to the church office no later than Tuesday, December 17.

Flowers: If you would like to remember a loved one by making a donation for flowers on a Sunday morning, add your name to the sign up sheet in the parlor. The suggested donation is $50. There are several dates still available!
