Come and Sing Choir Sundays! Last Sunday of Each Month
Anytime is a good time to join the choir! However, sometimes the pieces are a little intimidating to just pick up and Thursday night rehearsals are too much for some people’s busy schedule. To accommodate this, an accessible choral work will be chosen for “drop-ins” to join on the last Sunday of each Month. No choral experience necessary! No strings attached! To participate, stop into the sanctuary 30 minutes before the later worship service to rehearse without a mid-week, late-night rehearsal. Rehearsal for the “Come and Sing Choir Sunday” will be every Sunday in the month leading up to the Sunday in which the piece is to be sung.
(Anyone is welcome to join the choir on all Sundays with rehearsals on Thursday nights in the choir room from 7:30-9:00.)

Adult Forum: Reclaiming Our Inheritance
Join Pastor Debra in Bethlehem Chapel on Sunday, May 19 from 9:15-10:15 for a presentation and discussion on what it means for the Church to be “family of God, a body of Christ, temple of the Holy Spirit” as our Catechism states.
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed for after services through June! If you are available to help set up and clean up after a service, please sign up in the parlor, or email Timothy and let him know what weekend!

Coriolis Spring Concert
The Coriolis Spring Concert will take place on Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s (939 Hinman, Evanston). This is their 32nd spring program focusing on the theme Conflict and Resolution. Conflict and resolution are often found in the choral literature; sometimes in the music itself, sometimes in the text, and sometimes both. References abound to “my soul on fire,” calls for help (alas!), crowds crying out in scorn or threatening persecution and murder, and contemplation of silence and solitude. But fear not! Resolution awaits in a cappella settings by Barber, Cordero, Dowland, Lauridsen, Stroop, Tchaikovsky, Whitacre, and more. St. Mark’s parishioners Patrick Furlong and Chris Schultze both sing with Coriolis. Program details are available on their Facebook page. You may purchase concert tickets either online at their website, or at the door on the day of the concert. Credit cards are always accepted. General admission is $20, and youth tickets for those 18 and under are $5. For more information, please call Eric Skalinder at 847.420.5085.

Garden Helpers Needed
Save the date of Saturday, June 15 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. for our annual mulching party in the front gardens of the church. A great turnout means fun and quick work. We are also looking for a new area captain for the hosta borders. This job would involve determining where new plants need to be inserted in the front hosta borders and soliciting and planting hostas from parishioners who are thinning their home beds. This is an annual but low maintenance task. If you can't help with either of these but have ideas for the gardens or would be willing to work alongside one of our other area captains, have a conversation with Lola Himrod 847-864-7815 (h) or 847-409-1671 (c) or

Did you know that the most recent Vestry Meeting minutes are always posted on the bulletin board outside of the volunteer office? Now they can also be viewed onl ine by clicking  this link.
