Aina will be honored at the Interfaith Action of Evanston Vision Keepers Dinner and Fundraiser on Sunday, February 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Orrington. If you would like to attend, please let Pastor Debra know by Sunday, February 2, 2020. To reserve a seat, a check for $75 per person made payable to Interfaith Action of Evanston is required. We hope you can join us!
Shining Our Light Annual Campaign: As of today, we have received pledge cards from 46 households and are 72% to our 2020 Annual Campaign Goal. On Sunday, February 9, we will offer our commitments to the glory of God. If you haven't yet, please do turn in your pledge card. Additional pledge cards are available on the table at the back of the Lady Chapel and at the back of the Sanctuary OR you can go to for a link to print your own. The Annual Campaign Team hopes you'll join us as together we continue to shine God's light in church, in our community and in our lives.

Coffee Hour Hosts are needed each Sunday morning to ensure that members and first time worshippers alike are greeted with our famous hospitality after worship. This ministry entails brewing fresh coffee and setting out snacks (brought by other members of the community). Then, once folks are heading out, we ask that you make sure the food is put away, dishes are in the dishwasher and coffee pots are rinsed. There are many folks who can help you and answer questions on Sunday if you get stuck. But we need your help! There is a sign-up sheet in the Parlor with several open dates for February, March and April. Please help us ensure that our hospitality remains one of the things our first time worshippers talk about.

Office Hours and Announcement Deadline: Paula Cosby, Administrative Assistant is in the office each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The new deadline for all announcements for the eLion and bulletin is Tuesday at 12 noon. Thank you.

Jubi-latte and Tea Deum: Join Pastor Debra any Wednesday from 2 – 3 p.m. at Cupitol (812 Grove Street, Evanston) for a time of conversation over a cup of coffee or tea. Everyone is invited. It’s drop-in office hours without the office!

Vestry: Did you know that the most recent Vestry Meeting minutes and the treasurer's reports are always posted on the bulletin board outside of the volunteer office? The minutes can also be viewed online by clicking   this link!
Worship & Formation
Lunch Ministry Volunteers to be Honored on Sunday, February 16th at both services. February marks the anniversary of the Wednesday lunch program, a combined ministry of St. Mark's and St. Matthew's. All volunteers will be honored at each church's worship services that day. It is also the 3rd Sunday of the month which means it will be the Red Cart Collection of socks and jugs of juice (apple and cranberry). We would love to overflow the cart that day as a way of saying thank you to all who serve!

Flowers: If you would like to remember a loved one by making a donation for flowers on a Sunday morning, add your name to the sign up sheet in the parlor. The suggested donation is $50 (but any amount is welcome). There are several dates still available!

Acolyte Commissioning: We hope you've noticed some new faces among the acolytes! All acolytes will be (re)commissioned on Sunday, February 9th at our 10:30 a.m. worship. Join us as we pray for and bless them in their ministries.

Confirm not Conform Mentors and Students: A reminder that we will gather on Sunday, February 9 from 6:15-8 p.m. at St. Mark's in Bethlehem Chapel for our next session. Please bring your Bibles. If you have questions, contact Deane, Charlie and Debra at See you soon!
Ash Wednesday Worship will take place at 7 a.m. (Lady Chapel) and 7 p.m. (Sanctuary) on Wednesday, February 26. This is the way in which we begin our Lenten Journey. Both service will include imposition of ashes and holy communion.

Newcomer Series: Are you new to the Episcopal Church or new to St. Mark’s? Or maybe you’ve been coming for a while but want to know what it means to be a “member” of this thing called Church. Whatever your story, wherever you are on your journey in faith, you are invited to join Pastor Debra on Sunday mornings from 9:15 – 10 a.m. beginning Sunday, March 1 and continuing through March 29. If you have any questions or if you would like to RSVP (to help with planning), please email Pastor Debra at .
