Lay persons and clergy are invited to come to connect with others, build networks around ministries, and create ongoing ways of supporting one another. St. Mark’s is part of the Diocese of Chicago and the Diocese of Chicago is in Province V of the Episcopal Church and this gathering is for all of us! It takes place on July 12 and July 13 in Kalamazoo, Michigan and includes childcare for infants, programs for children of all ages and adults! Join Pastor Debra and others from throughout the Province to learn what other churches are up to in these changing times. Click here for more information or to register!
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed for after services through June! If you are available to help set up and clean up after a service, please sign up in the parlor, or email Timothy and let him

Staying Connected
Jubi-latte and Tea Deum (Coffee with the Priest) Has Moved!
We've moved for the summer! Come sit with Pastor Debra at Berry Pike Cafe, 1100 Davis Street, Evanston. We now meet on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m., see you then!

Garden Helpers
The mulch for our "mulching party" on Saturday, June 15 at 1:00 has been purchased and is stored in the parlor vestibule thanks to Rich Forst, Dan Whitmore, Lori Goede's nephew Connor, and Dave Himrod. The 15th is not far away. You'll need only a hat and garden gloves (I have extras if you have none). Water and a satisfying shared experience will be provided. If we have a great crew like last year, we'll be done in an hour.

Vestry
Did you know that the most recent Vestry Meeting minutes are always posted on the bulletin board outside of the volunteer office? Now they can also be viewed onl ine by clicking  this link!

Ready, Set, Go!  The 20th Annual Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate is set for THIS SUNDAY, June 16, 2019. The YWCA Evanston/ North Shore sponsors this Father’s Day tradition. The race features 5K/10K Runs, 5K Walk, and Youth Mile/Half mile. Race proceeds support the Y’s racial justice and violence prevention programs. The race honors the memory of Ricky Byrdsong, the first African-American head coach of the men’s basketball team at Northwestern University and insurance executive who died a victim of a hate crime. In the summer of 1999, Mr. Byrdsong was jogging with two of his young children in his Skokie neighborhood when a member of white supremacist group shot him. Registration and more information about the Race are available at www.ywca.org/evanston . Volunteers are needed to stuff packets, race material pickup and race day logistics, contact Jean Kim at   jkim@ywca-ens.org .

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church is one of sponsors of the Race and “Mass on the Grass” will be celebrated at 7 am prior to the Race kickoff. Are you running or volunteering for the Race? Please report your involvement in the Race with Donna Richardson @ dlynnrich322@gmail.com so we can record our social justice efforts.

Treasurer's Note:
On behalf of the Treasurer’s Office and the Stewardship Team, we are all hoping you have plans for a joyous summer! Before you head out of town, we’d love if you can remember to keep your pledge up to date at St. Mark’s. Cash flow slows down in the summer so it is helpful for everyone to help out! Payments can be placed in offering plates on Sunday mornings, mailed to the church, or made by PayPal (go to  http://www.stmarksevanston.org  and click on the Donate button in the right hand column). We want it to be easy for you! We will send out mid-year statements in early July.
