The eLion
All of us at St. Mark’s share a commitment to our faith and to our community, and we welcome visitors regardless of religious background, race, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Everyone is welcome here.
Palm Sunday Service
Sunday, April 14 at 8 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.

This service begins with a procession with palms and includes a dramatic reading of the passion narrative.

Maundy Thursday
April 18 at  7:30 p.m.

This service remembers the Maundy, the commandment of Christ to love one another even as each has been loved by him. And we remember his example in the washing of feet. The Eucharist is followed by the somber stripping of the adornments from the altar and church.

Good Friday
April 19 at 12:00 p.m.

The service will include the solemn collects, communion from the reserve sacrament, and adoration of the cross.

The Great Vigil of Easter
Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m.

This is the first celebration of the Resurrection amid candles and song, and stories of the great and wonderful things God has done for God’s people.

The Sunday of the Resurrection
Sunday, April 21 at 8 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.

Eucharist will be celebrated at both services. Between the services, children and adults are invited to gather for an intergenerational time of formation from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m.
The Easter Egg Hunt will take place on the front lawn after the 10:30 a.m. service

Easter Flowers
One of the most beautiful ways in which we mark the difference between the season of Lent and the joyous celebration of the Feast of the Resurrection is in the way we adorn our sanctuary. All are invited to help us create a festive display by contributing money toward Easter flowers. These contributions may be given in memory of a loved one or in thanksgiving or honor of someone special. The requested minimum donation is $20 per name. Please make checks payable to St. Mark's Episcopal Church and indicate "Easter Flowers" in the memo line or place cash in an envelope clearly marked Easter Flowers. Forms are available in the Parlor.

Requests to remember or honor loved ones in this way, must be in to the church office no later than Tuesday, April 9

Coffee Hour Hosts Needed for after services through May 5th! If you are available to help set up and clean up after a service, please sign up in the parlor, or email Timothy and let him know what weekend!

Come and Sing Choir Sundays! Last Sunday of Each Month
Anytime is a good time to join the choir! However, sometimes the pieces are a little intimidating to just pick up and Thursday night rehearsals are too much for some people’s busy schedule. To accommodate this, an accessible choral work will be chosen for “drop-ins” to join on the last Sunday of each Month. No choral experience necessary! No strings attached! To participate, stop into the sanctuary 30 minutes before the later worship service to rehearse without a mid-week, late-night rehearsal. Rehearsal for the “Come and Sing Choir Sunday” will be every Sunday in the month leading up to the Sunday in which the piece is to be sung.
(Anyone is welcome to join the choir on all Sundays with rehearsals on Thursday nights in the choir room from 7:30-9:00.)

Outreach & Social Justice
Midweek Lunch
Each week, volunteers from St. Mark's and St. Matthew's work together to prepare and serve meals for our neighbors who struggle with hunger and homelessness. If you would like to help, please contact John Lucadamo or Donna Richardson for more information.
