Dear Parents,
Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of when our lives changed. We shut our school doors for 11 weeks. We attended masses virtually and celebrated Jesus in our living rooms. As we look back and reflect on this past year, I encourage you to ask yourself these questions. How have you grown over the past year? How have you grown closer to Jesus? If you answered no, what held you back from building your relationship with him?
The future is looking promising. More vaccines are becoming available, the economy is opening back up, but most importantly, our church doors are open again! There is nothing like walking into the church and having the smell of wooden pews, candle wax, and incense fill your lungs. There is nothing like worshiping with people who help mold us to be the person we are meant to be—the best part of being back to mass; being able to partake in communion.
Growing closer to God during a pandemic has brought challenges. However, we have learned not to take small things for granted, such as attending mass in person and taking communion. Thank you, Jesus, for giving us the time to recognize and appreciate the importance of the small things in our lives.
God bless all of you! Enjoy your evening and count the blessings God has given you!

The St. Mary community is working on constructing an outdoor learning area and community gathering space for all to enjoy. We have been given the green light to convert Father Ken’s side garage into a learning community wonder emporium!
We need your help. We are looking for donations of/good deals on building supplies and landscaping material. If you work in construction or have recently completed a home renovation and have surplus supplies, we would love to put them to good use!
Items needed include:
- insulation
- drywall
- paint
- flooring
- wood
- windows
- nails
- screws
- landscaping/hardscaping material
Swoke founders and SMS Faculty members Sean Laudeman and Brian Geeding lead this project for the St. Mary Community. Thank you for your support!

Sign up now for PTO Family Art Night! Free take-home projects will be available for pickup the week of March 29th for return the week of April 19th.
Join us in creating some collaborative, Covid-commemorative pieces to be installed on our St Mary campus. This project, inspired by artist Kelsey Montague’s famous “What Lifts You” murals that have been painted all over the country (pictured above in NYC with Taylor Swift), will ask each participating student and parent to design a single feather that will be incorporated into our very own installation at St Mary School.
Join us to make some beautiful art together...sign-up below!

FIRST COMMUNION
The time is getting closer for our First Communicants to receive Jesus for the very first time! Our parish will celebrate First Holy Communion on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Under the current parameters, our children will attend Mass by class on the morning of April 24 (2S at 9:00 am and 2D at 11:00 am.)
This weekend (March 20 & 21), the children and parents will be passing “Prayer Partner Sheets” to all parishioners who attend Mass in person. Please join us in praying for these children throughout this time of focused preparation. If you are not attending Mass in person, please contact Mary Landrum at [email protected] to receive a prayer partner.

Parenting Reflection
Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love)
Amoris Laetitia Family
On March 19, 2021, the Solemnity of St. Joseph, patron saint of fathers, the Church will celebrate five years since the publication of Pope Francis' Apostolic Exhortation, Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love). In his message, Pope Francis shares the beauty and joy of love in the family and also discusses the challenges present in today's world. On the same day, Pope Francis will launch the year Amoris Laetitia Family, which will conclude on June 26, 2022. Pope Francis invites families to value marriage and family gifts and encourages everyone to be a sign of mercy and closeness wherever family life remains troubled and lacks peace and The Joy of Love.
