Office Notes
We are asking that ALL parents fill out the forms before the open house.
Please click on the SMV Forms on the left side under Permanent links.  This is necessary for we use these forms for emergency contact information.  This is something that needs to be done at a computer and not on your cell phone.  If you can't do it from your home, please stop in at the school office and we can help.

Playground and Lunchroom Duties
Built into your tuition are several fees such as playground/lunchroom duty and the book and tech fees.  We ask that every family signs up to do six duties of either playground or lunchroom duty or a combination of the two.
To sign up for duties please see the links on the left under permanent links that say Playground duty or Lunchroom duty.
The Hot Lunch/Playground deposit will be refunded once you have completed your six days.
Remember you must sign in at the school office before doing your duty.  This is our and your way of keeping track of how many duties you have done.

Immunization Records
The Archdiocese and the State of Wisconsin requires that we have on file an immunization form for each child.  We are required to do reports to the Arch and the State on how many students are in compliance. There is a box to check if you chose not to have your child immunized. We still need to have the form.

School Supplies
If you still need to purchase school supplies click here for the list.

What's New With The Hot Lunch Program?
EVERYTHING!!  Last spring, o ur head cook retired, our lunchroom supervisor moved away, and our food wasn't meeting our needs anymore.  We are pleased to announce that all three of these things are new and ready to go!  Our new meal provider, Taher Inc will offer one hot and one cold entree each day.  In addition, the students will have their choice from the unlimited fruit and veggie bar.  By making their own choices, Taher believes that students not only make healthier choices, but they will also eat more of what they take.  Please click here to learn more about this new partnership.  It will be extra important this year to have enough volunteers in the lunchroom.  Please see the link below to volunteer and to make this process run smoothly.

Meet Our New Lunch Staff!
Our new lunchroom supervisor is Mr Andy.  He is a member of St. Mary's Parish, and lives in Brookfield with his wife.  His goal for this year is to make lunch time enjoyable.  He enjoys travel, music and movies, and has an extensive background in both architecture and food preparation.

Mrs Miroslaw lives in Wauwatosa with her husband and four children.  She has been a stay-at-home mom for the last six years and is looking forward to getting back in the workforce as SMV's head cook.

Please stop in the gym between  5:00-6:00pm on Back-to-School Night to meet Mr Andy and enter into a raffle to win $50 for your child's hot lunch account!  And the first time you're in the building over the lunch hour, please stop downstairs and introduce yourself to Mrs Miroslaw.  If you have any further questions, please contact Courtney Falk at or check out the Hot Lunch website linked in the sidebar.

School Library Volunteers
Library volunteers are needed for all library classes, K4 through grade 5. Classes meet for 30 minutes on Mondays and Fridays for grades K4 through grade 2, and on Fridays only for grades 3-5. Parent volunteers may sign-up for as little as once each month or as much as every week. No library experience is necessary and toddlers and babies are welcome. Class times are not set yet so look for the volunteer sign-up in the Virtual Backpack next week. You may also e-mail Ms. Benson at or stop in the library at Open House on August 23rd .
