2019 Stewardship Campaign
St. Mary's Family,

T he Stewardship Campaign is off to a great start! As of Tuesday, September 25th, we have received seven pledges totaling $12,398 . Thank you for giving back the first fruits of your labors to advance God's kingdom through the ministries of St. Mary's.
If you haven't yet submitted your pledge, please visit the Stewardship Campaign page on our website.

Please don't hesitate to contact either us via email if you have questions, or talk to us at church on Sunday during Coffee Hour.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Co-chairs, 2019 Stewardship Campaign
The Reception Committee is STILL in urgent need of assistance from our parishioners.

We have volunteers to provide food, but now need volunteers to set up and clean after the reception for the following Sundays:

  • October 7th
  • October 14th

Please email Raja if you can help for either of these two Sundays.

This Sunday, September 30th is a Potluck Sunday . All parishioners are invited to bring something sweet or savory.
Christian Education : The Ethics of Sex
What does The Episcopal Church have to say about Christian sexual ethics? How do biology, psychology, and theology influence our approach to sexual morality in 2018? Join Fr. Charles for a two-part class on this topic.

Part 1: This Sunday , September 30th after the 10 a.m. Mass.

Part 2: Sunday, October 28th after the 10 a.m. Mass.

The format of the class is discussion, and the discussion will begin by exploring the various discussion points from a podcast called The Liturgists. You are invited to listen to the two-part podcast by clicking here Before you click , beware that the title of the podcast is intentionally provocative, and the commentators occasionally use language that may offend some folks.

Any device connected to the internet will work; you don't have to be a techie to listen to a podcast! The idea is to listen to Part I of the podcast prior to the first session, and Part II of the podcast prior to the second session. Please come to the class even if you don't have time to listen to all - it will be a lively discussion!

Fr. Charles

Everyone is encouraged to bring their smart phone to church, and we will have a brief social media exercise during the announcement time.
Sunday, October 7: 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.

You are invited to bring your pets with you to church to have them blessed. You're encouraged to invite a friend and their pet!

Wednesday, October 17

St. Mary's parish was originally founded as St. Luke's parish, and so we will commemorate our proto-patron with a Solemn High Mass with the opportunity for healing prayers and anointing. The Kansas City-area deanery has been invited as well.
St. Mary's Belles | Arts & Crafts
Wednesday October 3 from 1pm to 4pm, the St. Mary's Belles will meet with the ladies from St. Augustine's at the St. Augustine parish house to make Episcopal prayer beads, and share a bite to eat and drink. Please R.S.V.P. to Bonnie .
The Arts and Crafts group will meet at St. Mary's September 27 from 10am to 2pm at the church. Bring a brown bag lunch.
Sponsoring the altar flowers is a beautiful way to honor loved ones. Flowers are often given to mark special life events such as birth and birthdays; anniversary of a wedding, baptism, confirmation; the memory of a loved one; or as a thanksgiving for life’s blessings. Flowers are not a budgeted item in our church operations. The only funds available for use by this ministry are the funds you donate. You are invited to take part in this ministry!

If you'd like to sponsor altar flowers, click here for more information. In addition to the average Sunday,
Click on the Daily Office button to pray Morning and Evening Prayer, and to find daily Bible readings!
