ANNOUNCEMENTS

Shrove Tuesday

What an amazing turn out we had last night at our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper! Congrats to Sydney and George for winning the pancake flipping contest!

Making Ashes

On Shrove Tuesday, our Co-Wardens, George and Adrian, lead a group to prepare ashes for Ash Wednesday, using blessed palms from the previous year!

Ashes To-Go

Each year, St. Mary's embraces the spirit of community by offering Ashes to-go on Ash Wednesday, a cherished tradition that serves the Hampton Bays area. This thoughtful initiative ensures that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can participate in this sacred observance and receive their ashes. This is a wonderful way for anyone in the community to be able to receive their ashes if they are unable to attend a service!

Parish Development Capital Campaign- During Coffee Hour this Sunday!

This Sunday, March 9, St. Mary’s will host a presentation and discussion during Coffee Hour on our upcoming Parish Development Capital Campaign. The Vestry has approved moving forward with this campaign to fund essential projects—including building repairs and mission initiatives—that are crucial to the future of St. Mary’s Church. This effort is part of the ongoing Renew Campaign, which our parish will be engaged in over the next year.

One of the major building projects is the repair of our church roof, which has been leaking for several years. During heavy rains, the Altar Guild must cover the Credence Table in the Sanctuary to protect the linens from water damage—an issue that will only worsen if not addressed. The Property Committee is also using this opportunity to assess our 100-year-old building for additional necessary repairs, ensuring that our beautiful church remains well-maintained for generations to come.

Beyond structural improvements, the Vestry is committed to expanding our ministries—particularly for young families and the local Hispanic community, a ministry that has already made great strides.

We invite you to join us this Sunday to learn more about these important projects and how the Parish Development Capital Campaign will support them. This is an opportunity to ask questions, share your thoughts, and be part of securing the future of St. Mary’s Church and its ministries in a post-COVID world. Together, we continue to be a sign of God’s presence and love—for our members, our community, and those in need.

We look forward to seeing you there!
