STAYING CONNECTED AS A FAITH COMMUNITY

HE IS RISEN! Alleluia! Alleluia!

UPDATE:
Moving forward we will shift from two e-newsletters a week to one sent out on Thursdays. They will enclose our Sunday worship opportunity, news/updates from leadership and continue to share self-care tips. We hope that you are finding the newsletters comforting and a good way to stay connected! When our executive leadership team met back on March 15th, right after the closure of our buildlings, we would have never imagined that we would be away from each other for what looks like at least 2 months! We began the e-newsletters and phone calls to ensure that we as a faith community are able to get through this moment of social distancing. As well as the e-news we will be updating our Facebook page St. Mary's Manchester and our website so we encourage you to check those sites often. God Bless and Stay Safe- Junior Warden Sarah Tierinni

The Way of Light: Stations of the Resurrection

This is an Eastertide invitation to St Mary’s and Concordia to share in the liturgical devotion known as “The Way of Light” or Via Lucis. Like the Way of the Cross, the Way of Light pauses at ‘stations’ or stories of encountering the Risen Lord from Easter to Pentecost. We will take a virtual journey to remember and pray, as we open our hearts to encounter the Risen Christ in our own day.

Here’s how you can participate (three opportunities!):

Email me at  revalovejoy@gmail.com . I will give you one of the scripture passages. Pray, reflect and  make art . Send me a photo of your art - of any artistic medium - the only requirement is it’s your original work. Due by  April 30 . These images will be incorporated into worship (like the photos on Sundays).

Plan to join us for vespers on Sunday,  May 3rd  to pray the Way of the Resurrection together, virtually at 4:30 pm.

Also, email me for a passage to pray and reflect on and write your own meditation  reflection  on the passage in max 250 words. Deadline  May 3 . I will then create a devotional book, the Way of Light in our lives.

Both invitations are open to all ages and life experiences, no artistic training or theological education desired or expected.

May we walk boldly into the light with the Risen Christ!  -Rev’d Ann

MAY HAPPENINGS NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Vestry member Noreen Kirk is working to compile a May edition of the Happenings that tells our stories! If you would like, please send photos or brief comments about what you or your family are doing while staying home. It can be about how you are feeling, things you are finding helpful or comforting, what you are grateful for? Send to nskirk50@gmail.com

Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
