St. Mary's Day August 13th: Volunteers needed

St. Mary's Day will be celebrated on Sunday, August 13th. This will be the traditional service honoring our patron saint and will include flowering the cross. Everyone is invited to bring a flower or two from their own gardens to add to the cross.

Our friends from St. John's will be joining us here in Manchester to share in worship and fellowship that day. Please mark your calendars and be sure to join in worship and a special coffee hour together.

We will need many hands to make light work, please use the buttons below or email Sandy at sandy@stmarysct.org to share how you can help.

Please Share Your Ideas

As we think about our merger, we are considering which items we would like to discuss bringing from St. Mary’s to St. John’s. Several things have already been mentioned like the Altar Cross and the Tiffany stained-glass windows. We will consider the needs and space at St. John’s, as well as St. Mary’s connections to items.

We would like to get thoughts from both parishes. You may be aware of things that we could consider bringing or donating to another church. If there are things of historic significance, memorial gifts, or something of sentimental value as well as monetary value that we should be discussing, please let us know. If there are items that St. John’s needs or would benefit from, please let us know.

We have also heard that Shepherds Meadow is a place for church items waiting to be used by other churches in the Diocese.

Please let us know your thoughts. We can receive your responses in several ways: drop a note in the collection plate at church, you can mail your reply to Sandy Braman in the St. Mary’s Church office at 41 Park Street or email Sandy at sandy@stmarysct.org, or email me, Loretta Symons, Vestry clerk at Loretta.Symons@cox.net.

We will be exploring options. Thank you for your thoughts.
