Dear Ones,

I pray this e-newsletter finds you and yours healthy and safe as we continue to live into this strange new time in which we find ourselves. As God's people we have hope in better times and in finding hope in the midst of troubles. In these hard times, we feel many losses as we adapt to this longer and longer time that we are apart from one another. We need each other more than ever. We need the grace of God carrying us.

This week I am adding Compline/Night Prayers on Wednesday. This gives us two formal opportunities (Wednesdays and Fridays) to 'gather' virtually for prayer on weekdays. This beautiful service of prayer for the end of the day is found on page 127 of The Book of Common Prayer. If you do not have a BCP at home, you may use  bcponline.org . I will be on the zoom call beginning at 7:15 pm for those who may wish to try out the Zoom video conferencing and see how it feels. It is new territory for many of us and because we are about 'gathering in God's name' we are trying ways to be together and to join in prayer.

Last Friday we tried "Office Hours" by Zoom for an hour. It was both awkward and fun to 'see' each other. There were five of us who visited. This week I would like to try  "Coffee on the Curb" on Friday from 1-2 pm . I will be at St. Mary's "on the curb" and you may drive up with your coffee and visit with me! If we get a crowd you'll have to drive on...If it's raining, I'll sit on the Williams Building porch, keeping my distance. Another 'try on' for connecting during this strange time!

Please reach out to say hello to one another. Call a neighbor. I would love to hear from you! I can be reached at 1-304-951-7122. You may also email me at  revalovejoy@gmail.com .

I miss seeing you in church!

May God give us strength,
Ann Lovejoy Johnson

Please continue, as you are able, to send in offerings to the church office. They will be counted and deposited weekly to keep our operations going and our financial commitments strong. You may mail envelopes to the office or drop in the secure mailbox outside the office.

A Prayer (by Jennifer Phillips)

God, Wellspring of joy:
replenish us in barren times;
lead us out of our habits of captivity
and into your country of promise;
In trouble, in emptiness of life, in sorrow,
let us never be separated from you,
that we may build in the wilderness an altar
and offer our whole hearts
to your renewing fire
and delivering mercy;
through Jesus Christ who gave himself for us. Amen.
