eNews and Messenger
St. Matthew Family and Friends,

We are doing our best to keep the information easy to read, easy to access, and relevant to what's going on! Here's the latest at St. Matthew.

  • Happy Mother's Day!

  • Welcome Austin and Claire! We praise God and rejoice that seminarian Austin Wellhousen was assigned the Divine Call as our Wixom campus Associate Pastor. Austin and wife Claire are expecting their first child. Austin has classes through the end of June. They will move to Michigan in July. Details regarding Austin’s ordination and installation at St. Matthew’s Wixom campus are yet to be determined.

  • Phone-In Difficulties? We have heard that some people are experiencing difficulty when trying to phone in and listen to worship. Please, as prompted by the message, make sure to press the # key after entering the Webinar ID. If you are still having difficulties, please call the church office, leave a message, and we will try to assist. Please check in on your loved ones and make sure they are connecting!

  • The annual Congregational Assembly will be at 1pm on Sunday, May 31. At this point, we assume that the meeting will be via Zoom, with details to follow. The agenda will include a proposed bylaw change (click HERE), elections, action on the proposed 2020-21 budget, approval of the previous minutes, and any items from members.

  • Rise Up and Pray! You can help provide meals for frontline workers. If you are able to assist with a financial gift to help with our efforts to provide meals for local hospital workers, please click HERE. Make sure to indicate your special gift is for "Rise Up & Pray Meals for Heroes" If you missed the email earlier this week, please click HERE to read the details.

  • What a 100th Birthday Celebration! Last Sunday was such a beautiful day for many reasons! Not only was the weather amazing, but there was such a sense of joy as over 100 cars assembled in the parking lot of "It's A Matter Of Taste" for a "drive by parade" past  Mr. Jim Curry's house to acknowledge his 100th birthday! To read the article written by Free Press writer, Jeff Seidel, click HERE. In addition, when our Visitation Pastor, Mr. Galen Grulke, called Mr. Curry on Monday, Mr. Curry was opening his 155th birthday card and still had more to go! He kept saying to Pastor Grulke, "I just can't believe all of this is happening to me!" Thank you to everyone for blessing Mr. Curry with such a wonderful birthday!

  • Printed eNews Available - We have printed out some copies of the eNews and placed them in the plastic bin outside of Walled Lake campus main entrance. If you know of someone who needs a printed copy, please pick one up.

  • National Day of Prayer (Online Only) was a blessing to many. You can see the videos of prayers and devotions on our Facebook page HERE.

  • Reminders! If you scroll down to the bottom of this email, you can see some highlights and reminders from recent emails. We are trying to keep the most current information at the top, but you can look at the bottom for past, still current and important info.

I am lifting so many people in prayer this week. This is a hard time for many. Know that I am praying for you, friends! God is moving in powerful ways, and He will get us through. Keep showing God's love to each other!
