Lenten Altar at St. Matthew's

The desert-themed altar with purple cloth draping the Cross during the Lenten season will give way to Palms this Sunday. Services at 8 and 10:30am will begin in the courtyard with a palm procession into the church, and St. Matt's youth will enact the Passion of Our Lord as recorded in Luke for the Gospel reading. Thanks to our Flower Guild for their work depicting the themes of Lent during this holy season and to the Altar Guild for preparing and caring for the altar during this holy week and the coming Easter season.

APRIL CO-OP FOOD DRIVE-Our designated item for April is pancake syrup (any brand, any type) for the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministries. Due to the high price of groceries, the number of families needing assistance has increased as many of these families are now living paycheck to paycheck. Currently they are servicing an average of 300 families a week. Donations of all canned or boxed foods, as well as personal care items, are always welcome and needed.

Contact: Cheryl Wheeler or Dottie Merrifield if you have any questions.

For more information about the SE Gwinnett Co-Op or to volunteer, please visit their website.

Thank you for your continued support in helping the Co-Op feed those in need.

Around St. Matt's

URGENT NEED: Be an ANGEL!

It's Spring, and summer is coming. Our beautiful gardens are coming back to life, and to keep them beautiful and thriving through the year it takes WATER. Our St. Matt's Garden Guild needs garden Angels to help with that task over the next few months to care for them. Can you spare 30 min or so on a regular basis to help? There will be a signup sheet on the Building and Grounds bulletin board in the main hallway. Pick an area you can help care for and do the watering on your schedule. Contact Janis Williams for more information. It takes a village, and as we know, It's the People!

Getting Ready for the Easter Egg Hunt!

If you are planning on donating candy and other small items to fill eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, please bring them in by this Sunday, April 13, and place them in the basket in the parish hall.
