Around St. Matt's

The church car magnets are back! We now have car magnets and stickers (for those with cars that will not take a magnet, or for notebooks, cups and etc.). The magnets and stickers depict our wonderful stained glass window. These magnets and stickers serve as a wonderful community reminder of our active church. They are available for $2 each. They are available in the office or see Susan Carson, Karen Wilson or Diane Eberhart if you would like one. (Please note, exact change is appreciated, as we do not keep cash in the office).

All are invited to celebrate parishioner Mavis Gordon’s 100th birthday with her next Saturday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the parish hall. You are invited to drop off a birthday card for Mavis in the church office, or send one to her c/o the church, this week.

Potluck Dinner and a Movie

The Chosen, Season 4 resumes this Tuesday, March 11

Tuesdays 6:00—8:30 p.m. in the parish hall.

Bring a dish to share, watch the movie and share in the discussion afterwards.

The series runs Tuesdays through April 15, with the exception of Apr 8 (Spring Break week). See Fr. Tim or Trisha Voiles for more information.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper Photos

Check out the photos from the pancake supper last Tuesday! The parish hall was decorated for Mardi Gras to mark the last day before Lent began on Ash Wednesday. The St. Matt's Youth parents made pancakes, bacon, sausage and all the fixin's, and the Youth served the meal. A coloring table gave children a chance to color Alleluias to bury, since Alleluias are not sung or said during Lent. The Alleluias were "buried" and will be retrieved at Easter.

All love offering funds collected go to help the youth program. See you next year!

Many thanks to the youth and their parents/grandparents whose efforts made the pancake supper such a huge success!

MARCH CO-OP FOOD DRIVE-Our designated item for March is jars of pasta sauce (Ragu, Bertolli, etc) for the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministries. Due to the high price of groceries, the number of families needing assistance has increased as many of these families are now living paycheck to paycheck. Currently they are servicing an average of 300 families a week. Donations of all canned or boxed foods, as well as personal care items, are always welcome and needed.
