2026-2027 School Year Calendar

Dear St. Michael-St. Gabriel Families and Friends, 

Today we kicked off our 2026 Walk-A-Thon campaign, and all students received their individual Walk-A-Thon packets to take home. As students begin asking for Walk-A-Thon donations, please share our donation link with sponsors, as this is often the easiest and safest way to collect donations: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/SMSG_2026_Walkathon. Please note that our deadline for corporate sponsorships is September 14, 2026 so that we have time to get business names printed on the back of our Walk-A-Thon shirts. 

On September 16th and 17th, we will be holding mid-quarter Parent-Teacher Conferences to review how students are doing before grades are finalized at the end of the quarter. It is important to have an open and honest discussion about how your student is progressing to see if there are any issues that need to be addressed, such as missing assignments or a lack of understanding of the material being taught, so we ask that you bring your child with you. Please use the link below in this newsletter to sign up for a time with your child’s homeroom teacher. 

Beginning Band starts on Monday, September 28th. There will be a parent meeting with Ms. Leyba on September 17th at 2:00 in the school cafeteria for anyone whose child is interested in joining. 

Monday is our August birthday celebration, so any child with a birthday in August may dress down and also bring in a small treat to share with their classmates, if they desire.

Queridos Padres y Amigos de San Miguel-San Gabriel, 

Hoy iniciamos nuestra campaña del Maratón 2026, y todos los estudiantes recibieron sus paquetes individuales para el Maratón que llevaran a casa. A medida que los estudiantes comiencen a solicitar donadores para el Maratón, le pedimos compartir nuestro enlace para las donaciones con ellos, ya que esta suele ser la forma más fácil y segura de recaudar las donaciones: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/SMSG_2026_Walkathon . Tenga en cuenta que nuestra fecha límite para los patrocinios corporativos es el 14 de septiembre del 2026 para que tengamos tiempo de imprimir los nombres de las empresas en la parte de atrás de nuestra camisetas del Maratón.

El 16 y 17 de septiembre, tendremos conferencias de padres y maestros a mitad del trimestre para evaluar el desempeño de los estudiantes antes de que se tengan las calificaciones  finales  del trimestre. Es importante tener una conversación abierta y honesta sobre el progreso de sus estudiantes para ver si hay algún problema que debe tomarse en cuenta, como tareas faltantes o no estén comprendiendo adecuadamente el material que se les enseña, por lo que le pedimos que traiga a su hijo con usted. JOB OPENING

Currently, St. Michael-St. Gabriel has the following position open. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Ramos at lramos@indyarchangel.org. 

Bilingual Aftercare Worker: This is a part-time position. The worker will supervise students in Grades K-8 from 3:00-5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and from 2:00-5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, as most Wednesdays are early release days. Workers must be able to work all five days and speak Spanish. A two-hour training through Indy Parks to serve our aftercare meals will also be required. 

VACANTE DE EMPLEO

Actualmente, San Miguel-San Gabriel tiene las siguientes vacantes. Si le interesa alguna, por favor contacte a la Sra. Ramos en  lramos@indyarchangel.org. 

Trabajador Bilingüe de Cuidado Posterior: Este puesto es de medio tiempo. El trabajador supervisará a los estudiantes de los grados de  kínder hasta octavo grado de 3:00 a 5:30 los lunes, martes, jueves y viernes, y de 2:00 a 5:30 los miércoles, ya que la mayoría de los miércoles son días de salida temprana. Los trabajadores deben poder trabajar los cinco días y hablar español. También se requerirá una capacitación de dos horas impartida por Indy Parks para servir las comidas del programa de cuidado posterior a la jornada escolar.
