Message from the Principal

Dear St. Michael-St. Gabriel Families and Friends,

This past week, students in Grade K-1 and 4-8 completed their NWEA testing. Next week, students in Grade 2 and 3, as well as any student who needs to make up their assessment, will complete these same exams in reading and math. Remember that all exams need to be completed before our students go on Spring Break.

Speaking of Spring Break, remember that break begins on Friday, March 28th and lasts through April 4th. This means that students will only have school four days next week. Our school office will be open during the break from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in case you need to meet with Mrs. Areal or drop off documents still needed to complete your child’s registration.

As we begin the third week of Lent, we want to remind our students that we are still collecting donations for the Missionary Childhood Association. All mission boxes will be collected on Holy Thursday.

All report cards have been mailed. If you do not receive your child’s report card by Spring Break, please reach out to us for another copy.

Lastly, on Monday, students with a birthday in March may bring in a small treat to share with their class. Please review the family handbook to review guidelines for what may be brought to school.

Queridos Padres y Amigos de San Miguel-San Gabriel,

La semana pasada, los estudiantes de los Grados Kinder - 1ro y 4to-8vo completaron los exámenes de NWEA. La próxima semana los estudiantes de 2do y 3er Grado, así como cualquier estudiante que necesite recuperar sus evaluaciones, completarán sus exámenes. Recuerden que todos los exámenes deben completarse antes de que nuestros estudiantes inicien las vacaciones de primavera.

Hablando de las Vacaciones de Primavera, les recordamos que las vacaciones inician el Viernes, 28 de marzo hasta el 4 de abril. Esto significa que los estudiantes solo tendrán 4 días de escuela la próxima semana. Nuestra oficina estará abierta de 8:30 a.m. hasta las 1:30 p.m. por si necesitan reunirse con la Sra. Areal o dejar los documentos que aún necesiten terminar para la inscripción de su hijo/a.

Al comenzar la tercera semana de Cuaresma, queremos recordarles a nuestros estudiantes que seguimos recolectando donaciones para la Asociación de la Infancia Misionera. Todas las cajas para la misión serán recolectadas el Jueves Santo.

Todas las boletas de calificaciones han sido enviadas. Si usted no ha recibido el reporte de calificaciones a más tardar en las Vacaciones de Primavera, por favor contactense con nosotros para darles otra copia.

Por último, el lunes, los estudiantes que cumplen años en marzo pueden traer un pequeño obsequio para compartir con sus compañeros de clase. Por favor, revisen el manual familiar para conocer las normas acerca de lo que puede traer a la escuela.

QUARTER-ZIP SWEATSHIRTS FOR SALE

We have gray and red quarter-zip sweatshirts available for our Junior High students. These may be worn on regular school days, not just spirit wear days. The cost is $30 per sweatshirt, and students may purchase these from the main office. We have a limited stock right now, but we will purchase more, if we sell out. All sizes are adult sizes.

Tenemos sudaderas de cierre-tres cuartos disponibles para los estudiantes de Secundaria. Esta la pueden utilizar en cualquier día regular, no solo en los días de espíritu. El costo es de $30 por sudadera, y los estudiantes pueden comprarla en la oficina principal. Tenemos un inventario limitado en existencia por el momento, pero compraremos más, si se agotan. 8th Grade Trash Bag Sales

It’s that time of year when we know many of you are beginning to bag up your leaves and clean out your gardens. If you are interested in purchasing trash bags from the school office, we are selling rolls for $11 a piece. All proceeds go to fund the eighth grade class trip. An initial order form was sent home with all students this week, if you are interested in purchasing any. We do sell these bags throughout the year as well, so you may consider purchasing some in the spring as well.

In case you haven’t heard, the collection of Box Tops is now moving away from the traditional clipping of Box Tops to now scanning your receipt! The new and improved Box Tops mobile app uses technology to scan your store receipt to find participating products and then instantly adds the Box Tops to our school’s earnings online.
